Being one of those wide-ranging selectors unafraid of drastic bpm and genre shifts, masterfully oscillating between fast techno, IDM, acid, and a smattering of ghetto and electro.

LANDA is a Bilbao-based DJ, previously located between Madrid and Vienna. She is a resident and part of OTHERS TO THE FRONT, a musical collective with a political approach to the dancefloor. LANDA's music takes an eclectic and experimental approach to techno music. A queer approach unfolds in LANDA's sets, where the hermetic category of techno is blurred, bringing sounds from diverse backgrounds into dialogue with each other to generate alternative musical scenarios. This way, she seeks to explore different sounds within techno: whether it's breaks, acid or trance cadences, they always find good company with a danceable bassline. Through rhythms that get into your body until you can't stop dancing, LANDA's passion for music goes beyond the music set: for her the dancefloor is a political place of action, a communal, dissident and queer experience.

Materia Hache is a Madrid-based DJ, part of a new generation that still wants to make politics through the sound, the dancefloor and the mix. Resident and part of collective OTHERS TO THE FRONT and a regular at underground parties in Madrid. They define themselves as a House DJ, understanding the genre as something dynamic and fluid. Their sound mixes old-school and new-school from 120bpm up to 140bpm, constantly trying to capture the heartbeat of the dancefloor.  You will dance to a range from jackin' techno to Underground House, from the deepest to the most uplifting beats, always in search of the groove and dance. They understand the DJ Booth/Dancefloor relationship as elements that communicate and travel together, both part of the same thing. Nobody is more than anybody on the dancefloor. Through their DJ sets they fight in order to create a dancefloor that deserves to be danced, giving visibility and voice to the FLINTA&POC community.

Materia Hache troubles and from that troubling makes politics. It is in a permanent search of collective displacement from an individual introspection. It is a form of resistance from the dance body for an individual/collective question/displacement.

Materia Hache is that silence that opens for constant change: it is QUEER, it is TECHNO, it is HOUSE; it is what is born from fear, distance and uncertainty; it is all that is tried to be kept invisible while from the underground we answer with rhythms that displace us, that question us, that turn us into only one matter, at least for a few moments, more loudly than any given form.

Golosa Taste #10 - MATERIA HACHE

“Owelle": frenchified word derived from the English expression “Oh well”. Repurposed by Valérie Siron as her pseudonym to reflect her work ethos: serious, but without making a fuss.

Surfacing from Geneva’s club culture with a graphic design background, Owelle’s drive to synergise the audio and the visual power her expression of creative identity. Her compositions are imagined and built without boundaries, albeit replete with nods to previous genres ranging from early 2000s breakbeat, braindance and broken beat techno.

Intrigued by sensory immersion, Owelle further laces her art with interactive tools including programming, sound spatialisation and installation. Diving into a spatiotemporal journey, subtly incorporating their uses into her musical works. By blending her passion for diligent sound designing, field recordings and psychedelic vocals is how Owelle presents her approach to experimental music. Owelle’s creativity offers an intrinsic connection of her tailored rhythms and melodies to birth an original hybrid of sound and visual art. 

The music within this record questions the importance of sound in relation to the individual’s environment. To blur the border between noise and aesthetically pleasing. To ride the waves between discomfort and delight and to find the potentially hidden role of situational awareness and relating it to musical endeavours derived from the emotions within.

Christian Nielsen has never been one for musical pigeonholes, but with his new ‘Pull Up’ EP on Pets Recordings, the Danish producer takes that ethos to its logical extreme. Two tracks. Two distinct moods. One cohesive, club-ready package. 

Made not in some plush Berlin bunker but in the most democratic of studios - his kitchen, after the kids were asleep - the limited time and space, allowed Christian to focus on what really matters - the groove, the vibe, and making every sound count. 

The title track, ‘Pull Up’, is pure peak-time propulsion: raw, rhythmic rap vocals locked tight to a driving, big room chassis, built for the kind of dancefloor moments when the energy shifts from simmer to boil. 

“I wanted to create something that feels both nostalgic and fresh,” Nielsen says. “The idea was to capture that spontaneous energy you get when unexpected elements collide in the right way.”
