What is The Faux Noise

Imagine yourself in a big forest where the trees are so high that they almost touch the sky. The air is cool with a soft scent of foxglove. You are walking slowly and silently, taking your time and enjoying the stillness around you when you suddenly come to a clearing. At first you are almost blinded by the unexpected light, but then you close your eyes and feel the summer sun, warming your skin. Somewhere in the trees above you a bird is singing. It’s beautiful and sad at the same time and you’ve never heard anything like it before. You open your eyes and notice a girl sitting on the grass beside a small pond in the middle of the clearing.

 She is crying. Her tears are pearls falling down into the black water. She beckons to you to come closer and without thinking you obey her, as if you have no other choice. You rest your head in her lap and without speaking she tells you that all you darkest thoughts about love and life are about to come true. She continues to whisper every fear you’ve ever had very softly in your ear until you both fall asleep. Dark finally falls like thunderbolts around you. When she wakes up you will promise her to turn your emotions into brightly colored butterflies. If she just lets you stay. And she will offer you a necklace of her tears and a crown of her sorrow. As a token of her love.


Who are The Faux Noise

 he Faux Noise artistic roots are firmly planted in the fertile soil of the early seventies. They share their experimental approach with bands like Suicide and the whole art and music scene around Andy Warhol. Inventing new ways of expressing themselves as they go along, The Faux Noise could just as easily have been a painting, a movie, a fashion show or a short story. And if you turn around and look again maybe they are.

But while their dreamy soundscapes can remind you of the trippy escapism of the early seventies, The Faux Noise are true children of generation X. Their lyrics carry the melancholic mark of the new millennium, shattering our most precious illusions and questioning the very essence of what we used to think of as human. All the while simultaneously soothing us with melodies that are almost hauntingly beautiful. This is music for every broken heart and for all the lonely souls out there. This is rehab for your soul. Music saves.
