Born and bred in the deep roots of South Africa, Bun Xapa is considered as an African spiritual healer with his type of music, as many gifted human beings possess spiritual gifts, Bun Xapa understands and interprets the gospel of the heart of Africa, sampling Indigenous sounds, African folk music and Afro rooted instruments from Djembe, gongs, mbira to Koras and Soukous.

Bun Xapa's passion for Afro Dance music began in the early 2000s, while he was still in Junior school falling in love with music from Pioneer DJs such as, Bojo Mujo, DJ Cleo, DJ Mbuso, Black Coffee and Oskido, he began collecting music from the early 2010s, recording radio mixes with Cassettes and Music Videos on TV with VHS.

In 2012, Bun Xapa began his journey, started as a Disco Jockey, using Virtual DJ and Traktor, then later on he learned how to produce his own sound mimicking Uhuru, Heavy K, Boddhi Satva and other various top Afro House musicians at that time. In 2019, Bun Xapa got noticed by Angolan heavyweight and label owner of Seres Produções, DJ Satelite, where he got an exclusive music publishing deal, and has been given a platform to showcase his music.

Eugene Onyango, DJ , music producer & currently the artists and repertoire of East Africa's electronic music record label, Gondwana Ke. 
Lucky enough to have found his skill and developed a passion for music from a young age in his home town of Mombasa, EUGGY went on and ventured into the underground dance scene which led to meetings with paramount and predominant individuals in the field who paved his way to showcase at some of the most remarkable parties, having already debuted in cities like Johannesburg ( Iklwa Brothers music label showcase) & in Nairobi, at various night clubs and festivals. Through fusing different local compositions with electronic sounds around the global on his label’s catalog, he has given Gondwana Ke a unique identity from which he helps build a platform for East Africa’s electronic scene as the goal is to spread music from home. Today, EUGGY is based in the city of Nairobi playing a mixture of Afro, house, Deep House & Techno at different clubs and also holds a monthly residency with Gondwana Ke.

We mark 3 years of actively scouting & releasing the best African House music emerging from the continent with its talented artists. We single-handedly selected material for our second collection of sounds called 'Benin', from various artists.

The first part of our 24th release is composed of an afro-house, deep, ancestral, and highlife selection including a Kenyan original, born from a collaboration between the Malkia Band, Foozak, Dylan-S, and former Sarabi bass guitarist Lion Waceke titled, Ukaa. A Gikuyu word that translates to 'Come to me' and in the context of the song, 'Come, let's grow together in peace love, and harmony.'

Sticking to the roots and rhythms, we also pick Lisbon's Studio Bros, 'Ritual' matching closely with Freddy Da Stupid & Team Distant's 'RedZone' and South Africa's S.A.M.A award-winning DJ/Producer Sun-El Musician's 'Random', an upbeat percussion-driven house classic with ear warming guitar riffs and horns feeding an authentic highlife, afro-house direction to the first part of our second various artist's collection.

Benin also highlights our favorite Kususa cut, off the duo's extended play on our catalog and a debut release from TmanSoul, completing side A of the compilation.
