Lee DeWyze "Blackbird Song" As Heard On The Walking Dead

I wrote the original music for this song years ago and could only come up with one line "Lead me into, show me what you got". My friend Charis actually came up with that lyric (to give her credit where credit is due) but we were never able to develop any other lyrics. I wanted a song that invited the listener into a deep sensual place of surrender. With all our effort, we just couldn't find the words. I tried several other vocalists but nothing stuck. 

Several months ago, I had given Nadine (Colibri) a folder of instrumentals that I hadn't released. One day, she surprised me and sent her first take at what was to become "Into Your Wild". Her voice is enchanting, and her choice of melodies and harmonies were exactly what this song needed to give it the breath that it now contains. It has been a pleasure writing songs with her and we have three more in the works, including a new original song/collaboration between myself, Colibri and Phutureprimitive (coming very soon). 

I hope this song....takes you....into your wild.

This is a little preview of my new 9 song album "The Art of the Way" out March 29th.
Its been a magical journey around the world this last year.  This album is a taste of some of the people, places, and worlds I've encountered on my adventures.  Ive spent the last year traveling without my home studio so this entire album was created while on the road.  Getting to a set of speakers and listening as loud as I could like a sound junkie, mixing in friends studios, borrowing monitors, super fun, very challenging.  Living in my headphones.  Planes, trains, automobiles.  From Moscow, to miles in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica, to all over the west coast of North America.  

"The Art of the Way" was inspired by the Tao Te Ching which travels with me in my heart every where I go, and don't go :)  It is about my experience choosing the path of the graceful warrior.  Embodying the journey as my destination.  Experience the fulfillment of pure love through creativity, collaboration, sharing, and learning.  

This album is my experience of living "The Art of the Way".
