"Copper Trees" - Here's a simple one in a familiar style to start things off.  I took too long to make this, fiddling with inconsequential parameters.  Hopefully by the end of all this I'll ignore those things and go straight for composition.

"Petrified Temple" - This one ended up being really foresty too.  I need to try for some different tones and themes.  It also ends kinda abruptly, there's a lot more melodic material to explore with this one.  But they're just quick sketches anyways.  I started trying to make a recorded acoustic piano piece, but I got really self conscious during recording and I made this instead.  I'll try that again another day...

"Sandsailor" - I'm not really too happy about this one.  I'm challenging myself to try new things, and one comfort zone I really haven't stepped out of yet is to try to experiment with more dry sounds.  That is, not so much reverb and delay, just naked instruments without effects.  Songs that do it properly have this kind of confidence and boldness to them that I haven't really been able to capture with my wetter sounds.  
So this is my attempt at a dry track, except for some delay on the lead instrument.  I ended up drowning out the whole spectrum in a fuzzy bass/pad instrument, which is kind of cheating.  The drums suffer from this experiment because I'm used to lots of depth in my drums from reverb effects, but now I have to find depth elsewhere.  Hopefully by the end of these 30 days of experiments, I'll have figured these things out.

"Cornflower Blue" - I took another attempt at dry drums, following yesterday's tepid attempt.  This one turned out a lot more successful because I stuck with a simple beat that I was more comfortable with.  It ended up sounding really Com Truise-like, even though I didn't consciously do that.

"Swamp Siren" - I took a break from dry production; this one's as wet as they get.  I like the sounds but I think next time I'd try for some more variation in the harmony.  I know it's just a sketch but a key change would be nice once in a while.

"The Night the Moon was Green" - Another super-wet song.  I was experimenting with a super-long audio stretching program and ran some vocals though it.  I like the effect, I think I'll utilize it in some future ambient tracks.  I think I should've made a better ending for this one, but then again, it's just a sketch.
