T.U.R.F.:
Is the musical project of childhood friends Lorenzo and Tom. Under this moniker they express their longtime love of house music, ranging from the grooving sounds from Chicago to the funky filtered house sounds from Paris.
Since they started working together in 2017 the Dutch duo have been delivering a number of successful EPs on labels like Robsoul, Exploited, Nervous Records and Tensnake's True Romance. Ever since then the gentlemen continued to craft their sound by adding their unique touch to the classic late 90's and early 00's sounds they grew up with.

Are just a few of the words that best describes Derrick Carters music over the years. One of my favourite Producers/DJ’s  - period. I wanted to create a mix of my favourite originals, remixes and edits. Always consistent and I have seen him DJ atleast a dozen times.  At the moment I have 69 Derrick Carter tracks in the DC music folder. Hard to break it down to a specific # of my favourites but here’s a start. Enjoy!

Biography
Carter was born in Compton, California, and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. After practicing his DJ skills for a number of years as a teenager in his bedroom, he then made the step into the Chicago house scene.
In 1988, he released an EP with Mark Farina and Chris Nazuka as the group Symbols & Instruments.[5] While the record was not a commercial success, it did have a strong influence on the burgeoning ambient techno movement in England. This established Carter as an international figure in the underground house scene.

"The English Disco Lovers was formed on 18 September 2012[5] by four anonymous London-based friends, who were discussing the appropriation of the initials EDL from the English Defence League and "putting it to better use". Some time after that they wrote a manifesto expressing their aim to oust the existing EDL from the top of Google's and Facebook's search results, aiming to achieve this via search engine optimisation using a website, Twitter feed, and Facebook page.

In an emailed comment to The Guardian, they said:

'I don't think any of us could say we were disco fans before, but as we've heard more and grown to understand the message, we've found ourselves identifying with it. Disco has always been a scapegoat for racism and homophobia. English Disco Lovers is turning the tables in favour of equality and respect.'"
