wow not sure what to say.... brings me back into the 80s and 90s

After 2 years & being played by infamous names such as The Blessed Madonna, Horse Meat Disco, Tim Sweeney, Carista, Peach, Orpheu The Wizard, Ben UFO, Rune Lindbaek, Dicky Trisco, Double Dancer and the list goes on… Canto Club is back!

From party people with shoulder pads, big hair, white Rolls-Royces, panama hats, the Fragrant Harbour that is Hong Kong had a very unique Hotel / Clubbing scene before places like DD’s, Canton Disco and Hot Gossip opened their doors.

These Discotheques were a place of creativity, panache and mischief of the era. They were all destinations of desire.

For this edition, we have a special duo called Running Hot which is making waves on the web for digging obscure gems alongside our head honcho RFX. This compilation of 8 edits from the harbor.
We have lots of glitter in this one and the usual funky percussive grooves very unique to Cantonese music.

There’s a track for everyone in this compilation.

1. Who are you ?
I am Ned aka. Tech Support, based in London, UK.

2. How did you discover this track ?
I was going through a discogs rabbit hole when I found it, it was very easy to find but quite underrated.

3. Why do you choose to edit it ?
There are some parts I really like about the song, but overall I found the structure to be quite messy, and at points a little jarring, so I cut out the parts I didn't like and beefed up the good bits!

4. What are your next plans?
My next release is my track 'Idyll Illusion' on Semi Delicious alongside Demi Requisimo, Baby Rollen, Harry Oscillate & Gallegos, out 26.11.21!

Starting off the EP is RFX, with a groovy mystical disco pearl of the faraway desert.
Second, we have a rework from Native Red of the infamous track that you know to sing but probably don’t remember where you heard it.
For the second edit from Native Red, we have a dark cinematic banger for some spooky vibe.
And last but not least, a very rare psychedelic gem RFX has dug up which closes the EP in with a rite of passage.

The Berlin-based duo of Marko Pelaic (Homeboy) and Bene Bogenberger (one half of Peak & Swift) first wowed us with their sublime self-titled debut EP on Bordello A Parigi back in 2018 and more recently with their killer "The Forbidden Dance" 12'' on Love On The Rocks and the "Space Time EP on Permanent Vacation. For LAGASTA's "Late Summer" compilation, Longhair delivers a perfectly crafted summer anthem, a gorgeous rework of Mr. President's "Coco Jambο" that will certainly cause a commotion!
