Chris Iredale started the off the night with his unique blend of rare grooves from throughout the years.. Starting with break beat going through the gears & playing some stone wall classics .All mixed with love on 1210s.... Chris is a very experienced dj & we couldn't be more frilled to have him as part of TheGet Up. Chris will be playing again at TheGet Up on the 8th September @ The Blind Pig in Sowerby Bridge.

Good2Groove's set from TheGet UP from the 12th May 2018 - The guys pushed the night on after Chris's set with their own unique take on house music. With tracks that were big part of their scene growing up to more recent house music gems. Wicked groove that showcases Good2Grooves love of quality house music. The floor was rocking! Enjoy.

With this good vibes mentality we keep marching forward to our newest episode #096 in which we are very pleased to introduce you to our dear family friend from Amsterdam, Netherlands - Joa Sopacua also known as @augustmae as this week's special guest, delivering you super lovely and energetic tape which is flowing real nice and would be a great addition to your playlist, while you've been enjoying Spring season and doing all the activities inside/outside.

August Mae is an Moluccan DJ/Musician/Producer who's deep love and passion for music led him to making melodies as a young boy. With his father playing the guitar and his mother being a singer, it is no wonder that he grew up around music, while spending time to play instruments such as the guitar and piano. 
Coming from a strong church going household, he was raised around music genres as: Jazz, RnB, Soul, Funk and 90's Hip-Hop. 

When you spend time digging in to @augustmae work, you can hear lots of influences into his productions. Everything from RnB to Future, from soul to Baile Funk, and everything thatʼs in between, or even is fused together. For August it is important to keep searching for new sounds, to make music with or to combine all kinds of elements.
Currently August is working hard on his “Club Edits/Remixes” pack that has to come out before the start of Summer season.
Other than the “Club Edits/Remixes” release, August is also busy with lots of other projects, with different kinds of talented artists.
There is a shit load of new stuff coming your way very soon!

Had great fun playing alongside some huge names as part of Scotland's STREETrave fundraiser, which raised over £50,000 WOW!!!

1st time I played for STREETrave was 1991 at Prestwick Airport with SL2, and have since played for their bigger partner Colour over the years - Big ups to Ricky McGowan for all his hard work and effort.

I first heard this track on Japanese DJ Koco's Glitterbox live stream earlier this year. I was immediately hypnotized by its jazzy, almost mystical groove, and by the raw, old school recording style. In my head, I immediately heard how it would sound with a strong and punchy bass line, and knew it would have to be my next project. 

I looked up the group, 300 Years, to find out who they were and what other music they made. To my surprise, they are virtually unknown, and this seems to be the only track they ever officially released. 

Maybe somewhere someone has some 300 Years records that we don't know about, or even knows who they are/were. If so, I call on them to share with the world!
