Summer heat is here and with it the eighth installment of Duro’s international groove compilation "Muy Duro". For this volumen the Mexican record label dig music from Lithuania's Monk Ernie, a seductive collaboration between Time To Sleep & Local Suicide. The first manifestation from Israeli, Ido Morali. The debut of Moisees & ZEA in the VA series, and to close the compilation, a collaboration from TAU’s duo, Dominik Marz & Radial Gaze.
The opener is "Canned Shoes" by Monk Ernie, a fresh and vigorous cut with a rogue percussion section, a big funky bass line, a melting electric guitar, wacky arpeggio synthesizers and cooling pads. It’s followed by "I Unfollow", the collaboration between the Croatian Time To Sleep and Berlin based lovely duo, Local Suicide. Seductive melodies, tight drums and phantasmagoric voices lead you through the whole track. From Israel comes Ido Morali with "Mondo3000", a pushing bass kick blended with dozed vocoders and acid sound that sweeps the reality expansion into a hypnotic experience.
Next up is "Wasen" by Moisees and ZEA, a track inspired by DMT trips and Japanese fishing boats. A Strong and mind-blowing cut, oriental instruments, psychedelic synthesizers, and rumble drums drive you to the zurna's break. To close the compilation is "Error 707" by Dominik Marz & Radial Gaze, an epic cut manufactured with powerful drums and beautiful synthesizers, an electric shocks rain.

This week on Topshelf we're elated to bring you the pulsating rhythms of Geordie DJ/Producer Good Catch.
Himself a production of the pandemic , Good Catch is one in a wave of young artists who were allowed time during the COVID period to throw themselves head first into their work. What came out the other side were 2 superb Italo/House EP's in 2021's 'Work+Design', which spawned a remix from Italo darling REES, as well as 2022's  'High Octane - Dance Sequence' which we hold in the highest regard as a criminally under appreciated record. 

Now for us with a mix combining elements of Disco, Italo, Jazz House and Post-Punk to create a glorious 80's centric throwdown, here's Topshelf 071 w/ Good Catch. Enjoy.

For the 19th episode of our podcast series we are very happy to present you Good Catch from Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England. After attempting to move to New Zealand in February of 2020, he was forced to make a swift return to the UK after just one month due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was shortly after returning home he rediscovered his love for electronic music. He then turned his attention to music production and building a home studio, and due to the lockdowns in the UK, he was given a lot of free time which enabled him to focus on making music. Within a year he had released his first EP on REES' Paradiso Records in England and had began to secure bookings/gigs at local bars, clubs and venues in the area. His most recent release on Bungalo Disco based in Berlin was great for him as he has been a fan of the label for a long time and it allowed his tracks to reach a new audience.
