@loveintfestival has linked up with @test_pressing to launch a new label. The inaugural release comes from @fantastic-man, the Berlin-based Australian whose music has been played by everyone from Aphex Twin to Bicep to Gerd Janson and many more.

Love International make good times happen in far flung places, whilst Test Pressing make good times happen physically and in the digital sphere, a meeting of like minds and shared tastes, all bases covered here. Together this collaboration has been releasing compilation album from the likes of Gatto Fritto, Beautiful Swimmers and Shanti Celeste, and this new label project unites recording artists and designers in a meeting of music and art.

On the ‘Cloud Management’ release, Fantastic Man teams up with Alexander Papoli-Barawati, a German/Filipino/Iranian graphic designer and art director living in Berlin. The striking and playful graphic design is in tandem with the music, which runs from the beautiful piano–led Balearic sounds of ‘Cloud Manager’ to the floating breaks in ‘Lounge Wizard’, the warped chug tempo in ‘Psychic Monthly’ and the beautiful acid bubbles of release finale, ‘Time Apprentice’.

7 years in the making (and the 24th release on her own label) Paramida's debut EP is here. This huge 12” contains two never heard before cuts, ‘Dream Ritual’ and ‘French House 2000’, backed up by deadly remixes from the Octo Octa & Eris Drew and Youandewan, and in ritualistic style, is being released in a divine ceremony coinciding with the lunar cycle. Intentions have been set.

Escaping was a necessity; living in a concrete jungle made her feel trapped, at times as though she were fighting for breath. Whether it was the peace of the countryside or the paradisiacal surroundings of the beach, these places gave her a sense of renewal, refreshing her mind and her senses. This would only last as long as the trips did, it was a sad truth that the rejuvenation would soon dissipate as she stepped back into the rat race. 

As is their annual tradition, in December Leipzig's R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings marked the end of another year with a VA compilation featuring music from fresh faces and old friends. Swirling around the sounds central to the label - breaks, house, electro and techno - the four-track EP calls on the talents of R.A.N.D regular Tim Schlockermann and new blood Adam Strömstedt, Barney In The Tunnel and Olsvangèr.

Change was a natural part of life; he'd long given up trying to resist it and instead embraced it with open arms. Whether that was friendship circles, relocations or career switches, it made his years all the more richer. The life tapestry he was painting welcomed fresh colours and threads, new people added their own strokes, some subtle, others unmistakable; it was constantly evolving into a masterpiece that grew more beautiful day by day. 

DJ and producer Ste Roberts is embarking on a new label venture. Having already proved his curatorial abilities through his co-run Hypercolour imprint and his own Ste label, he now introduces Private Parts which kicks off in style with a sought after reissue from 1995. Made up of two tracks from the only release put out by Helmet, the duo of Max Brennan and Aubrey, Purple Edge is hypnotic, timeless driving techno at its best, with the title track made famous by its inclusion in the Craig Richard's seminal Fabric 01 mix compilation.

Next up on X-Kalay it’s fresh heat from one of the finest among a current generation of prog-inclined producers. Guy Contact’s ‘Out of My Head (Into My Body)’ speaks to a sublime, utopian conception of dancefloor utility; dance music primed to achieve ascension through collective physical experience.

Navigating mystic, offbeat zones, Contact sets out his stall from the start. ‘Out of My Head (Into My Body)’ is as pristine as it is expansive, inducing trance states as trippy flourishes oscillate over driving rhythm in impeccable lysergic style. Then, with another dose of melt-on-the-mind groove, a radiant bliss-out arrives in the beautifully buoyant flex of ‘Sacred Mist’.

Taking its name from a part of the brain associated with emotional processes, ‘Amygdala Tongue Wobble’ propels into fractal introspection with dense, insistent pulse. Finally, ‘Optimystic’ finds Contact channelling new age spirits as he assumes the role of innerzone healer - wide-eyed downtempo to close things out.
