GC038 - The Magic Track 🇭🇺 

The Magic Track a DJ/Production duo from Debrecen, Hungary, comprised of Gio & DRJ and they are infatuated with disco and house. 

Gio was raised on classic house and techno, and also influenced by the sound of the 80's electro and synth-funk sound. DRJ grew up on 80's pop, indie, and UK punk .

It was inevitable that these guys will work together sometimes. They both love the classic funk & soul from the 70s and this is what they mix with brand new and recent house, disco, afro, brazil, indie dance and nu disco tunes.

Their producer career was started only last year at And Friends Records, and in the last 10 months Magic releases came out on Mango Sounds, Hive Label and Furious Mandrill too.

Their debut EP, Four Seasons was released on Furious Mandrill in December, and only three months later the next one, Equality EP was sitting in the Juno Download TOP 10 for 2 weeks. Their tracks were played by Fingerman, Pete Herbert, Stephen Richards, Mannix, Paul Older, Igor Gonya, etc.

Their latest EP was released on Tropical Disco in September, and both tunes were featured on the Traxsource TOP 100.
Next Magic EP's are coming soon on Masterworks Music, Furious Mandrill Records, Super Spicy Records, and the guys are also signed their first 3 vinyl records to be released in the upcoming months.

Good Custard Mixtape 038: The Magic Track

It gives me great pleasure to welcome Discoholic Ken back to the show this week for a second spin of Feel Good grooves. He was the first guest of this year, and kicked off 2021 with an amazing set that brought a smile to everyone’s Friday. Bringing his 30+ years of DJ experience to the decks, I’m sure this week’s show will be another blinder. 

Since he was last on the show, Ken has continued to build up his record label Discoholics Anonymous, releasing a series of quality tracks that have all gone down a storm in the disco world. The artists on his label have included Ezirk, Twin Sun, Disco Lust, Dexter Jones and Monsieur Van Pratt, to name but a few. Ken was also responsible for releasing and promoting my own track, Sound of the Music!

As well as a record label, Discoholics Anonymous is a well respected music blog, with music reviews, exclusive premiere’s of new tracks and many free downloads. Ken definitely has his finger on the pulse when it comes to disco.

He also runs weekly radio show called Hot To The Touch, with co-host Martin Max. The show is broadcast on Prime Radio in Greece, and reaches a terrestrial audience off over 300,000 people. Weekly guests have included Jet Boot Jack, Igor Gonya, Stephen Richards and Ken@Work. All the shows are available on his soundcloud page

Episode 75, the three quarter century, was a bit of a special one - it was broadcast on Valentine’s Day, which is also my birthday! Couldn’t resist slipping in a couple of loved up smoochers, but this episode was all about the promos really, with two new cuts from myself and some brand new heat from disco friends Pete Whitely, Pete Ellison, Jack Tennis, Shalvoy, Da Lukas, Robert Ouimet & Dave Godin and Mascott

As it was my birthday, I’d lined up an extra special guest for hour 2 - Michael Gray!!! Michael is a hugely respected and established British DJ and music producer, best known for his hits ‘The Weekend’ & ‘Borderline’ He is also one half of the dance music production and remixing duo 'Full Intention' who have been at the forefront of Dance music since the early 90s.

London-based Michael is one of the most in-demand Artists on the global dance music scene today. Having relaunched his solo career as Michael Gray in 2018 to pursue his original love of Disco, Michael has consistently placed in the top three house artists on Traxsource - an incredible achievement and a worthy accolade for Michael's world-class production skills. Throw into the mix awesome DJ sets at the best events in the UK, and a host of chart topping tracks with Jon Pearn as Full Intention, and you start to see the full picture of one of the UK's most talented Artists. He has DJ’d all over the world from MOS in London to Hi (for Glitterbox) & Pacha in Ibiza and as far and wide as Poland, Germany, The Philippines, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Georgia, Spain and The Netherlands.
