These nights will be held exclusively at various points in the year with the next one on Sunday 17th April where I'll be playing alongside some great DJs including Funkmaster Hutchy, who's vision has brought The Best Kept Secret to life. The Black Light Disco show is ready to spread your weekly dose of peace, joy and love - throwing a sequinned disco blanket over the myhouseradio.fm airwaves and massaging your ears with a sonic soother. 
 
As we occasionally like to mix things up a bit, this week we’re letting our guest take to the Discometric Regeneration Booth in BLD Towers first. And who is our guest this week? Well, it’s none other than entrepreneur, label owner, all round good egg and purveyor of fine musical fruit cake – Discoholic Ken!
 
This marks a second visit to the BLD booth from Discoholic Ken (aka Denmark’s Ken Avalon). Since last appearing on the show Ken has built his Discoholics Anonymous brand into an omnipresent behemoth – the label is flying, whilst his ‘Hot To The Touch’ show airing on Prime Radio continues to pull in outstanding guests from across the musical spectrum. Ken’s carefully curated and constructed a slower tempo vibe here, which fits perfectly for the opening salvos of this week’s show.
 
For the second hour, we have our residents who would be presidents, Pookie Knights giving it the old ‘pump pump’ on the gas pedal – this is coming in hot, people so wear your best asbestos underwear and welding goggles in preparation for re-entry.

Hailing from Belgrade, Serbia - Mirko & Meex are present on the house music scene for over 20 years with very recognizable “back2back” performances. 

Their sets are filled with different styles of music from disco, funky and clubhouse, all the way to deep, tech and minimal sounds. 

They have been involved with music production since 2008, and to this day their numerous recordings reached high rankings on global charts and playlists. 

Their single “A Jam”, which was released for Monoside, held a leading spot in its genre for a long time and was particularly noticeable by wide audiences. Soulfuric, Cruise Music, Glasgow Underground and Monoside are only some of the big record labels that recognized their musical quality and for which they have signed a few tracks. As well as their production, they are also the owners of Night Beat Records.

Pied Piper, the "underground super-producer", manages to conjure the right balance between hip hop, bossa, jazz, funk and something a little more tropical, a sound and panache that is carried through to the following four cuts of juice.
The results are spectacular, and wildly far-reaching, albeit firmly rooted in jazz with classical undertones, a slow moving booming loud, musical jumbo jets landing at the end of another great crescendo.
This is another head-nodding jam which boasts a breakbeat that has been sampled on scores of killer rap lines.
Full of his delay-laden trumpet lines, tumbling trombone, and spaced-out beats, it's all devilishly hard to pin down, delivering his distinctive groove flows over a crunchy and fuzzy,
On point from start to finish.

My special guest week this week is Jasmin, aka JAY-KAY, a relative newcomer to the world of DJing who has a real passion and talent. She has been a music addict and vinyl collector since her early teens, but recently took to the decks, mentored by her fiancée and fellow music lover, DJ BK.

She’s got off to a very strong start, with a series of soundcloud mixes that have proved extremely popular with music fans across the globe. In “I Don’t Want Money (I Just Want to Love)”, Tim Maia makes it clear that love is more important than any material possession.
The chorus, "In a way, I don't want money, I want sincere love," demonstrates a stance against the pursuit of wealth, especially relevant in the 1970s, when Brazil was undergoing major social and cultural changes. Tim Maia reinforces that happiness lies in affection and reciprocity, as highlighted in the verse, "When we love, we don't think about money, we just want to love." This direct and striking message made the song an anthem about the value of love, spanning generations and remaining relevant in concerts and re-recordings.

Disco Mind heads all the way to South America for this next outing with Colombian duo Vagabundo Club Social at the helm, having previously impressed on the likes of Razor n Tape. 'El Gato' kicks off with bright, expressive disco horns and fat, low-slung drums that draw your hips right in. 'Yim Zalzedo' has another thick-set rhythm and this time the horns take a back seat to the percussion and jazzy keys and congas. 'Tabu' flips the vibes and taps into a revivalist 90s house sound with piano chords getting hands in the air, then 'Adicto Al Limon' shuts down with a perfect uplifting and feel good Balearic house sound with a classic Chic bassline.
