Uptown Funk is the dynamic DJ/Producer duo of Antonio Alexis and Craig Horsley from Huddersfield and Bradford, UK. With a distinct blend of Soul, Funk, Disco, and Jackin’ House, they’ve quickly become a force in the scene. Their 2020 debut EP, Groove Edits on Rare Wiri, hit No.1 on the Juno singles chart, and they’ve since released on prestigious labels like Super Spicy, Disco-Weey, and Tropical Disco. Good Custard Mixtape 119: Uptown Funk

Dale Gold heads up the show this week with a fabulously funky set of weekend groovers. Our special guest was Andy Buchan, who brings an eclectic vibe to the show, spinning slinky downtempo grooves, housey tech and other electronica. Andy runs his own record label called Hot Gorilla, along with fellow funkmeister “Conan the Selector”, and has unleashed a series of red-hot edits and disco monsters.

As a producer Andy is prolific, releasing quality tracks on a regular basis. He’s signed to 12 different record labels, including Hot Digits, Midnight Riot and Masterworks music. He also co-runs his own record label called Hot Gorilla.

His tracks have been supported by the likes of Craig Charles, Danny Rampling, Greg Wilson and Bicep, to name but a few.

As a DJ, he’s opened for some serious talent including Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Calvin Harris.

It's that time of year once more as we bring you The Finest - 2024, an album celebrating the sound of Midnight Riot!

Opening the collection is Sonic Soul Orchestra's electrifying remake of 'Deeper Love', featuring the powerful vocals of Phoebe Edwards and an unforgettable touch from New York legend John Morales. Label head Yam Who? collaborated once again with Stockholm DJ and production duo Rikky Disco on the gospel-infused 'Shine On', and a huge remix from Sophie Lloyd, whose devastating dub ignited Defected dance floors worldwide. Jaegerossa had another phenomenal year, delivering the perfect big-room Saturday night vibe with 'The Big Red', appealing to both longtime fans and new recruits.

We were thrilled to welcome disco royalty Delegation to the fold. 'Party Forever' marked their triumphant return, produced by Birmingham’s boogie king Danny Kane. New signing Toon Janssens, under his Forbidden Fruit moniker, brought us 'All Night Long' featuring Nimiwari, while Glitterbox recording artists Qwestlife turned up the heat with their boogie re-flex. Audiowhores and Groove Assassin's 'Music' showcased the stunning vocals of London’s Hannah Khemoh, while Northern-based songstress Suki Soul gained even more globe-trotting momentum with her Opolopo-produced feel-good anthem 'Good Lovin'.

In celebration of London’s Pride 2024, we presented the unifying anthem Love Is a Bassline by Robert Owens—a rallying cry for inclusivity with the message, 'Gay, Straight, Whatever'. Closing out the party, Belgium's Krewcial teamed up with legendary UK singer-songwriter Ray Hayden for 'Real Love', a sun-kissed classic that perfectly captured the late summer vibes.
