Born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, Joseph Deeb is a long-time Austinite and former lead guitarist/songwriter for Micky and the Motorcars (MMC). Lured by Austin’s nurturing live music scene, Joseph brought his Mike Campbell-influenced slide and lead guitar style to his regional Americana/roots rock bands, while picking up side gigs with bands such as Reckless Kelly. Soon after producing his first solo album Little Baby, Joseph joined up with MMC – brothers of Reckless Kelly members. Touring the US, MMC frequently opened for artists which included Willie Nelson and Cross Canadian Ragweed. Songs which Joseph recorded with MMC have been in the TV show The Good Wife, as well as some he’d written included in the movie Soda Springs (Tom Skerritt).

After five years and two albums with MMC, Joseph left to be home more with his family, and later assembled a small home studio where he produced his new EP Eating Crow Vol. 1. The first single, “When the Compromise is Great”, has a haunting Tom Petty/Wallflowers-vibe, and has been featured on legendary Austin Sun Radio DJ Kevin Connor’s weekly Saturday morning shows. Some of Joseph’s influences include Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the Allman Bros., and Leonard Cohen. He’s had songs recorded by Texas-based Americana artists Casey Berry, Dean Seltzer, and Buster Jiggs, as well as co-producing two of Buster Jiggs’ albums, and penning MMC’s “Careless”, a Texas Country Music Chart top-10 song of the year.
