"Imprint”, the first full length offering from guitarist/producer Derek VanScoten produced under his alias Cloudchord, drops March 21st on Gravitas Recordings. Drawing from obvious jazz and funk roots, the 12 track LP invites subtle influences of future bass, tropical house, and disco to mingle fluidly. However, it’s quickly discernible upon first listen that these influences have cemented into something new; the album is delivered as agreeably familiar yet blissfully fresh, mixing straight beat and broken rhythms with live guitar and poignant synth melodies throughout.
