Described by DJ Mag as meeting between “art house film composer and basement rave", Brooklyn-based producer QRTR is known for her sonic journeys. Her debut record 'Drenched' was released in March this year was dubbed as “a spacey body of work that spans house, ambient and techno” by Mixmag.

Chill Pill

When I visited San Francisco a little over 3 years ago prior to moving to Oakland, I was fortunate enough to be hosted at my friend’s beautiful flat in the Outer Richmond giving me a chance to explore the city. The famous SABE house (now JABE) and its residents always made me feel at home when I first moved to the Bay and through them I became a part of a larger community. A community of friends, artists, activists, professionals, teachers, and dreamers which is representative of many communities in the Bay that have pushed for justice, equality, wisdom, understanding, and empathy throughout history. This mix is about community and the ways community can bring people together to further actions based on love & respect. This mix would not be possible without Black Music and is about standing together as a community to make it clear that Black Lives Matter.

Although it feels strange to share or promote music at this time, I put this up in dedication to all of the communities in the Bay that are standing up for justice and equality and preserving culture during unprecedented times. Thank you for accepting me as part of your community and providing me with a lifetime of inspiration. Now more than ever we must uphold the value of community. 

This mix was recorded on June 6, live at the JABE house in the Outer Richmond, SF for my good friend Silva’s intimate quarantine bday.
