Truncate joins for DifferentSound Podcast #109.

There is really not much to say about our next guest that hasn't been said before - born and bred in LA, started DJing in his teens, part of the long-standing Droid family, techno prodigy and current forerunner in the genre, alter ego extraordinaire.... we are talking about TRUNCATE.

After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores wstarted DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

As you are about to listen, the next hour is the epitome of what his project is all about - deep, jackin', rhythmic techno - that grabs you by the core and it is as much of a body workout as it is the minds. Without further adieu, ladies and gentlemen, this is Truncate.

TECHNO // GOOSE // TENSOR

We're the Goose Collective, a small techno collective based in Toronto, Canada. In July 2017 we launched the original Goose Collective Podcast; a collection of mixes by a couple friends who only dreamed of sharing it with a few friends. In just a couple short years, we released nearly 50 episodes totalling over 21 thousand listens, a number far beyond our wildest expectations. 

After a short hiatus, in 2025 we're back with a new podcast: TENSOR. Dawning a fresh new name, look, and a much larger vision, TENSOR picks up where the original podcast left-off, with hard-hitting, banging techno. Our goal is to bring in a number of emerging techno artists and DJ's from around the globe and to continue to bring good music to your ears.
