Not for the first time in our series are we back in the Argentinian capital, where we’re visiting a cosmopolitan city that dazzles with architecture, dance and up-all-night urban life. I have always been very interested in the relationship we can create between classical music and house music. Double Touch Music is a true pioneer of production in this field. Sydney and Los Angeles-based Classical Pianist/Composer Van-Anh Nguyen and DJ/Drummer/Producer Mark Olsen blend their two worlds together to form a unique dreamy mix of acoustic and electro sounds. Add to the mix the majestic vocals of Reigan Derry you have the perfect combinations.

Goos brings a distinctive energy to the floor. His sound ranges from intricate melodies to chunky basslines, often inspired by earthy tones from around the world. 

Goos was born in Doha, Qatar to musically inclined parents who introduced him to rock music at a very young age. This early onset of music led to a gamut of musical influences in his life ranging from Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Pink Floyd. His deep-seated love for percussion instruments led Goos on a pursuit to learn the Mridangam. This subsequently enabled him to also take up drumming, giving him a well-rounded understanding of percussion. Goos discovered his passion for dance music through the unique sounds of Eric Prydz and Roger Sanchez. 

Goos hosted his own showcase at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in 2018 titled Journey on Tour presenting artists from around the world. Goos has played alongside international artists such as Marsh, Roy Rosenfeld, Jody Wisternoff, Eelke Kleijn, Sebastien Leger, Lane 8, Yotto, Ben Bohmer, Dee Montero, Tinlicker, Kora, Denis Horvat, Theo Kottis, Joseph Ashworth, Roger Martinez and Dousk to name a few. Goos has also played at Echoes of Earth, Satellite Beachside and Krank festivals in Goa, Go:Madras in Chennai alongside many local acts apart from artists from the Anjunadeep roster.

Goos was picked as one of ten rising DJ’s worldwide by Pioneer DJ for their Kuvo service. This was heard and reviewed by Daisuke Ito, a long time contributor to club and culture publications including Resident Advisor. Goos’ sets have been featured on When We Dip, Deeper Sounds (Cafe Mambo Ibiza, British Airways, Emirates), Sonne, Strand und Meer, The Deep Room Everything will be OK (UK), to name a few.

His fortnightly podcast ‘Journey’ showcases the full range of sounds of this versatile artist apart from a rotating roster of guests.
