Jæger and Full Pupp mainstay, Ivaylo, features on his first original release at Mhost Likely. Accompanied by the modern-day keys wizard Byron The Aquarius and Radio Piñata resident Tom Manzarek, the Spectrum EP is a collection of tracks equally suitable for listening and clubbing.
The EP kicks open with the title-track 'Spectrum'; a cruise into dreamy synths and driving drums. Spectrum makes no mistake about its intentions, immediately introducing you to a pulsating drum section, followed by a stepping and syncopating bassline. The song's continuous evolution is sprinkled with an ever-evolving array of percussion, synths and vocals that melt together in a pot of beautiful and mesmerizing deep house. For the second track, 'Radar Fønk', Ivaylo notches up the tempo. The drums and percussion are ever-present, and the bass rolls across the groove, inviting you into his soundscapes. The rhythm section continues with the shaking percussion and dancing groove as a natural follow-up to the previous track, complimenting the last track title superbly.
Byron The Aquarius is next, touching 'Spectrum' with his signature Detroit-inspired sound. The Alabama-based producer keeps the original theme of the track intact with dreamy vocals and classical Detroit-inspired electric piano while adding another layer of funk with a more traditional deep house beat, giving the song a new but familiar glance—a must-have on every DJs USB. Tom Manzarek completes the EP with his leisurely sun-waxed and dubby take on 'Radar Fønk.' The French producer takes the original tempo down, with pulsing pads accompanied by moody melodies, while at the same time pinpointing his dubby production style, which makes for a fitting end to our voyage.

DC Promo Tracks: AFTERLIFE "Bufo"

The concept for the EP came naturally to me: the way the tracks were consolidated was through an initial sketch of notes and beats, which gradually took shape; just as the definition of the term suggests as a set of “notes” that serve as a starting point for the composition of a musical work - DEBUXO.

The tracks result from an immersion of the relationship between synthesizers and drum machines, and always started with a sketch, of a TR beat, and a Pad of some digital synthesis, like the D50 and the DX7 - I've been involved for many years with this kind of musical narrative, and amid many references: Keyboard Music from the 80s and 90s, Relaxing New Wave, French Touch and Berlin School.

A selection of hand picked tracks from artists around the globe that we feel perfectly encapsulate the musical vibe of the summer! From hazy daytime chillers to warm twilight thrillers, there is something here to soundtrack the simmering sound of summer.

PREMIERE: Tecwaa -  Haze [Shades Of Sound Recordings]

Cosmic afterburners dialled up to the max, Pamela Records voyage out to the ends of existence with their latest four track trip from Jo Sims. Taking the lead leap of faith is esteemed producer, remixer and DJ David Holmes, who provides a signature cinematic remix of the title track ‘Bass – The Final Frontier’. Like the climax of a sci fi space odyssey, Holmes molds the track into a synthtastic epic with otherworldly vocal refrains ringing around your brain and body. The original mix is up next a new beat flexing stomper that will have any crowd begging for more.

Flip it for darker, twisted chugathon in the form of ‘Demons Of Dance’ before the trip hop tinged, downtempo delight with a distinctly space age touch ‘Mumbo Jumbo’, takes the final slot.

The third volume of the most libidinous edit series around is finally landing on the shelves, ready to make even the hardest-to-please clubgoers drenched in sweat on the dancefloor. The record starts at full speed with "Erotic 707 Sample," an irresistible feast of splashes and drums, just to abruptly transition into a smooth and dreamy mood with the downtempo gem "Tudo Ligado." The B-side opens with the seductive Disco-House vibes of "Disco Manina," peaking with the anthem "Oh...Money!" - perfect to be sung along while holding hooves.

PREMIERE : Tudo Ligado (Conceito Ficticio Edit)

Melancolic synth ballade featuring my latest purchase, the PreenFM3 as verse lead and pad. I had the version 2 and thought more polyphony is always good. Plus you cannot have too many interesting small boutique desktop synths. The bass is the small but handy Mopho desktop, sounding very much like a Pro one. Also in this is my rather new monologue, also a small, handy interesting mono synth. Cannot understand why I waited 7 years before I got it. This trio covers a lot, sorry quartet. The lush vox pad is my Roland JV-880 hiding under the desk. Very important for the late 80's/early 90's sound.
