The ambiguous title "NºXX" refers to both the Latin writing for night and number twenty. Much as "Tenth" (Other Heights, 2010) was a closing album for the Reduct series 1 to 9, "NºXX" is a closing album for the Reduct series 11 to 19.

As the reference in the title to night suggests, the music is all about nocturnal dub vibes, weaving through moonlit ambient clouds.

Primary [colours] life begins with the Echo Inspector's creation, Lunar Shadows. Exploring the depths of space, Lunar Shadow’s form begins humble, discreet, with its stealth like kick forming structure around dark matter, playful hats, deep sub and intertwining textures and layered frequencies. Life emerges organically, evolving before it takes one final deep breath and re-emerges capable and built for the un-yielding journey ahead before finally completing its calling.

Gritty, warm chords layer themselves over an insistent rhythm while off beat micro-organisms keep stride. Gentle pads envelop and grow in authority, weaving their way through the groove, creating power, tension and intensity - consequently leading Lunar Shadows to become an everlasting memory before finally waning and leaving you wanting for more.

November 2007. Winter is coming closer. The track here is based on some of the source material for the 2004 album release Signal to Noise, mainly a single recording of a longer pad sound of a Yamaha SY 77 synthesizer. It has been sampled, transposed, filtered and layered a few times to get to the final result.
