If there's anyone who'd fit in practically any line-up or timeslot, its this man. For the last decade Sean Rickett has spent countless hours digging all sorts of records and building a vast musical collection. This is reflected in his diverse DJ sets which range between different sub-genres of the electronic spectrum with an ever-present nod to the 90's Rave scene. This mix is another fine example of that as he masterfully delivers a high-impact 80 minute selection of UK Bass-Heaviness, old school breaks, sci-fi Techno and a healthy dose of Acid lines as you'd expect.

Ending of a mad weekend that included a Friday night at NT, last minute flights Saturday morning for KV Berlin and straight back to E16 on Sunday (BA + Lizzy line were on point, phew)
But then, smoothest ride I can remember. The crowd shows you which tracks to pick before you even think. It’s very natural, and very special.

A debut to remember.

Stepping into the booth at Tresor for the first time was surreal—a moment of pure energy, nerves, and raw emotion. There were stumbles, moments where I lost myself in overthinking, but through those, I found a deeper connection to the sound and the experience.

This set is deeply inspired by the sounds that have shaped me—the layered textures of Indonesian traditional music, the metallic resonance of gamelan, the sharp percussive hits, and the breakbeat elements I’ve always been drawn to. Blending these influences into my interpretation of techno felt natural, like a conversation between past and present, structure and chaos.

A heartfelt thank you to Hamy for inviting me into the New Faces program and giving me this opportunity, and to everyone who was there that night, moving with me.

This set is a reflection of that journey—hope you enjoy it as much as I did. <3

- Who are you? How old are you? 

My name is Sean, I’m 34 years young.

- What is your stage name?

I use my own name - Sean Rickett.

- How many months/ years have you been Djing / producing?
I bought my first pair of turntables back in 2004, from then on I just kept buying records and practising pretty much every day.

- Why do you want to share your music?

There’s no greater feeling in the World than to set the mood and share the vibe with a crowd in that very special moment. Music is a very powerful tool that knows no boundaries. This is probably it’s the biggest strength and a one which is very well needed in these present times.

- Mention an artist that inspired you to become a DJ/producer?

There’s no particular one to pinpoint this on. All I can say is I’ve always been drawn to the risk-takers, the DJ who just says “fuck it, let’s see what happens”. There’s a lot of these mavericks around and they’re a nice reminder that this is all about fun and experimentation.

- Is there a local artist that you look up to and love to see play at events?

There are many, the scene is strong and competition behind the booth is always a good thing, keeps us all on our toes. There are of course the veterans like Brian James, Owen Jay & that guy manthrax ain’t too bad either. Acidulant is an amazing producer and DJ, we’ve played endless B2Bs together and it’s always great fun. Same applies to Gordon Flash, another tremendous DJ who I’ve had the pleasure to share the booth with multiple times. New-ish players like Matte, Darren (who has actually been around a while) and Dave Space spring to mind. But like I said, the local standard is very high in my opinion and this can only be a positive. I welcome it with open arms.

- Where can we find your music?

All recorded sets/ podcasts are uploaded/ re-posted on my Soundcloud account. I have a FB page which I use too, however, any live streams are now done via Instagram as FB is a bit of a cunt when it comes to streaming! I also have a YT page where I will be uploading more mixes in the future.
