Tobacco Road

A little trip back in time revisiting one of the first guitar solos I learned in my youth. 'Got To Hurry' was the flip side of the Yardbirds hit 'For Your Love'. It featured Eric Clapton on guitar and was one of the last recordings he made with the Yardbirds before departing and being replaced by Jeff Beck.  Still fun to play after all these years.

Back in the early 60's I was listening to guitarist Bob Clarke with Wes Dakus and the Rebels, from Edmonton, Canada. They would play the old dancehall at Alberta Beach where I spent my summers. The Rebels used to open for George Tomsco and his Fireballs from New Mexico USA. I loved their sound and bought the recordings like Torquay by the Fireballs and Las Vegas Scene by the Rebels. I wrote and played this tune with these guys as my inspiration.
