Gore Tech - (DJ Set) @ North X North Fest - Manchester 2024

For those fortunate enough to attend the very first 'North X North Fest (Volume 1)' hosted by me (Northern Lord) and equally in good luck to have been able to stick around until the very end may have caught my Gore Tech DJ Set. 

Knowing I was following the mighty 'Sly & The Family Drone' headline the event I was a little unsure of what to play, who could match that energy, certainly not this guy, Equally playing a tear-out gabber and breakcore set wasn't really going to cut it for this sleepy post-industrial northern town, despite the amazing system installed by Synk Audio (So good) 

So I opted to throw down a set I've wanted to play for a while, Feel-good, bootlegs and mash-ups of all the good stuff from the late 90s and 00s. So here it is, a home recorded version of that very set.

2024 was a busy year for Kidsonic.

Following the release of his debut album Finding Faith in late 2023, he’s since proceeded to slap us silly with a barrage of beats on an exciting range of imprints: Drumad, Beats In Mind, his own self-titled platform, Nymfo’s LFLF imprint and brand new label Mustard Music where he’s found a spiritual home and dropped some of his most impressive tracks to date.

Now with more releases locked for 2025, Kidsonic reflects over his best year to date and what he’s had to overcome. Autistic, born blind and now heavily visually impaired, Kidsonic's route up the ranks comes with its own unique challenges which he perpetually rises to with a calming and philosophical air and approach.

In his own words he celebrates his abilities rather than focus on disabilities. And he’s definitely achieved in tearing our HQ speakers into shreds with this cracking MIXMAS trip. A story told the classical 1210 way, this is a special vinyl only trip into a whole other side to the rising artist. By day, a mild mannered minimal crafstman. By night, a bad-ass wax wrangler who has the chops and confidence to try and blend Twist ‘Em Out and Mr Majestic. What’s more, he makes it work perfectly, too.
