It’s been a while since we did a release and we’ve been sitting on this one for far too long so in a valiant effort to get the fractal machine back up to full speed for when the clubs reopen here in the UK we decided to get a little taster of the inevitable trade deal our American friends are going to give us for our next release.

Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, DECONTROL has been cooking up bangers for the last decade, featuring on our “Just A Cacophony Of Random Noise” compilation along with releases on Mindocracy, Devil Times Nine and Big Riddim he always hits that distinct deep-fried USA flavour of Drum & Bass perfectly. It's that tried and tested recipe - a base combination of heavily compressed amens and extra fat basslines, garnished with a fistful of rap samples - but the classics recipes never die, allowing DECONTROL to serve you three courses stuffed full of your favourite ingredients.

Opening track “Street Mentality” draws you in with an old school hip hop introduction scratching classic rap samples around a screeching gangsta synth line before picking up the energy with a siren build up and finishing you off with choppy blast beat drums and distorted basslines.

“Shots From The Underground” begins with atmospheric drones and sparse percussion before a distorted bass builds to a heavy rolling drop. The most dancefloor oriented song of the release this one is guaranteed to add a big dose of energy into any party.

Don’t let the soft strings in the intro of the final track fool you as “Simple Murder” quickly morphs itself into a distorted barrage of sound moments after it begins building into a half time twisted hip hop style first drop whilst saving the dirty 4x4 crossbreed kicks for the ultimate payoff in the second half, to all you DJ’s who enjoy starting heavy this is a banging opener.
