Rich NxT, one of FUSE’s core residents, returns for his fourth EP on the FUSE London label. Set for release in April, the ‘Wasteline EP’ sees him build upon his fine earlier work with another mesmerizing journey through expertly crafted underground sounds. 

Title track ‘Wasteline’ is an impressive opener, which stretches over seven glorious dubbed out minutes. The track is characterised by its infectious groove, which rolls along at a steady pace and is complemented by expertly placed distorted sounds and vocal snippets. ‘Instate’ continues in a similar vein, but this time warm reverb pads shine through darkness of the crisp percussion. With distorted vocal fragments and echoing cowbells added to the equation at just the right moments, the clever arrangement results in a totally engrossing and hypnotic track. ‘Daybreak’ – is another functional dance-floor weapon, with heavy bass, sharp drums and echoes ringing throughout, these sounds all combine to create a deeper-than-deep eyes closed heads down vibe that is a perfect fit for the FUSE dancefloor.

Rounding off the EP is remix of ‘Wasteline’ under their acclaimed Kilimanjaro project. While the dubby essence of the original remains, the duo instantly stamp their mark on the record through raising the BPM with razor sharp percussion and adding sublime deep bass and warm soaring synths which wash over the punchy beat.

On the ‘Wasteline EP’ Rich demonstrates his considerable production prowess and as expected from one of FUSE’s most trusted residents it contains all the elements that one would associate with the much-loved FUSE sound: deep dubby house and techno of the highest order, rich in details and sound. The ‘Wasteline EP’ leaves listeners eagerly anticipating Rich’s next output and hearing the release on the dancefloor.

After a string of successful releases on labels such as Rejected, Leena and Cecille, we are extremely excited to announce the return of Ross Evans to Saved.  Three years on from 2011’s These Sounds, Ross’ latest offering showcases his ability to adapt, and to continue making solid, upfront house music. 

The first of the two-tracker, Let It Go, kicks off proceedings by fusing soulful vocals with an infectious bassline, culminating in a blistering workout for the dance-floor.  This is balanced perfectly by the more peak-time This Is Carcosa over on the B side, which really showcases Ross’ effortless talent.  This Is Carcosa binds eerie vocals with a solid, jacking groove to round off what may be a package of Ross Evan’s best work to date.

The main element on “Carthago” is the Moog. It was a new approach, influenced by the new kind of sound that was slowly taking over. Minimal was on its way to dominate the dance scene in the coming years, but I didn’t consider myself minimal. The new sound, focus on particular machines for main elements of the tracks. That approach felt somehow German and old school, and the result had to be released on an old school German label.  Thank you Sven and the team!

<p>As we unfold the second instalment of our annual compilation of exclusive gems we couldn&#8217;t be more excited to have Mr. Eric Sneo kick things off with the aptly titled -yet grinding- &#8220;Beauty Of The Sky&#8221;, followed closely by the rocksteady groove and haunting electronics of Arjun Vagale. Rafa Barrios picks up from there, strips things down to a bare minimum and adds a cheeky sample which everyone will recognize. Paride Saraceni graces us with a heads-down number, complete with house strings and meaty chords, while Matt Sassari and Reinier Zonneveld give us the claustrophobic &#8220;Gas&#8221;. Closing up, Raffaele Rizzi&#8217;s &#8220;Rebus&#8221; constantly evolves and builds over a rubber-band bassline and commading vocals.</p>

If ‘Utopia’ is propelled by a blissful euphoria, then ‘Dystopia’ is a darker more haunting journey melodic trip produced in collaboration with Pisetzky – a member of the duo’s Just This collective and shortly due to release his debut EP on their label of the same name. Driven by intergalactic synth swirls that build towards a menacing crescendo, its otherworldly energy makes it the perfect accompaniment to the original.

Berlin's Ninetoes is the latest artist to contribute to This And That's nine-part EP series exploring the relationship between music and art. His three-track 'Blue Dreams' EP represents the third in the series and also enlists Re.You on a sparkling remix of lead track 'Bill'.

Scheduled for release on September the 7th, 'Blue Dreams' boasts meticulous craftsmanship, with lead track 'Bill' offering up a dynamic, full-flowing melee of techno rhythm, while on 'Fatura', he takes a harder, synth-driven route through his production remit. Fellow Berlin-based producer Re.You rounds off the EP with a dark, misty reinterpretation of 'Bill', showcasing haunting vocal hooks and skewed rhythms. 

As with each EP in the series, Ninetoes was also tasked with providing his visual interpretation to accompany his music - a concept that lies at the heart of This And That's bold, creative outlook for 2015.

Miguel Bastida - Soul Reactions Gorge 's Summer Rework Snippet

The creator of some of the freshest sounds in techno music in recent years, Ramon Tapia, is once again pushing the envelope with his new double-header for John Digweed’s forward-thinking Bedrock label.

‘Hysteria’ exhibits mountainous energetic menace with its elongated rumbling sub-bass hum and whip-snap percussion build, before launching into mind-melting melodic flourishes and an intense groove finale. Adding to the excitement, ‘Intricate’ features a classic Ramon Tapia percussion-led gem of a groove that expands with filmic flourishes and twists a plenty, resulting in yet another beautifully crafted piece of music. 

Ramon Tapia’s skill as he blends the slower, sexier sounds of the contemporary techno vibe with his deep understanding of the genre from the past few decades is what sets him apart from many other producers. With tinges of his Latin background influencing percussive elements and his Dutch/Belgian heritage providing the basis for his hard-grooving template, his sound is one of the freshest of recent years.

'Havana' (BEDDIGI51), the Ramon Tapia & Stavroz collaboration from last summer (with that deadly trumpet hook), remains a firm favourite in many DJ sets today. It was recently revived with a superb remix by Guy J and featured on the new ‘Underground Sound Of Ibiza 2’ (BEDIBIZACD2) compilation. Both tracks are well worth checking.
