Fresh from releasing his debut album Endless Path of Memory, sound artist and experimental musician Nexcyia sends a mix for Bleep that is equally mystical and varied. Spiralling piano keys flurry into rich, lush folk and classical arrangement, then the serenity breaks for whirring, portal jumping electronics. Shoegazing walls of strums, blurred vocals, and soft acoustic lullabies rub against abstract percussive clusters and eruptions of stream, with ethereal sonics bursting into murky club rhythms. 

"I recorded this mix at home on Ableton, it's the stuff I listen to on a daily basis. There are a lot of collaborations here that I admire. Some new music here by Kevin, a duo comprised of Ben Bondy and Mister Water Wet and unreleased music by NUG, a music project by Florian T M Zeisig and PVAS. In this year, 'GOST Zvuk' celebrates its 10th anniversary. In honor of this milestone, we decided to get in touch with its founder Ildar Zaynetdinov (low808).

Ildar has recorded a mix mostly consisting of unreleased works from residents, and has given an interview for our 'ethereal labels' section, in which he answered several questions regarding the platform's work and history.

At different times, Vtgnike, Flaty, Buttechno, Lapti, Roma Zuckerman, OL, Nocow, Hoavi, and many others have released on 'GOST Zvuk'.

The concept of space and distance plays an important role in terms of composition and organization of sounds, events in music. Within this mix, OL tried to show how music producers interact with this concept in different ways. Piper Spray & Lena Tsibizova is a duet of a composer and multimedia artist from Moscow. They describe their sound as 'romantic noise,' combining industrial textures with nostalgia. Piper was one of the founders of the cassette label Singapore Sling Tapes, which has collaborated with Orange Milk, Hausu Mountain, and Constellation Tatsu. Lena Tsibizova is better known as a photographer and artist. As a musician, she has released two albums on the Prague-based label Baba Vanga and the Florida-based label Illuminated Paths. Lena and Piper are also members of the Air Krew.

GOST ZVUK x Dublab: guest show with Piper Spray & Lena Tsibizova

Gost Zvuk presents the first vinyl release from the hidden gem of the Moscow electronic scene – Dmitry Drozdov. Under the shadowy alias of @dx2ov, on Interzona he plays with an array of fairground-like melodies, lo-fi house motifs, buoyant space-age optimism, and old-school UK breaks. Along with the strong emphasis on melody, at the forefront of his style is a keen ear for off-kilter, scattered percussion, with 'Voices' shining as a curious example of polyrhythmic, synthetic metallophone meshing with gritty Roland rhythm box styles. The album glides between these sharper moments and experiments with gloopy, submerged aesthetics and Madlib-like phone call snippets ('OK') as well as minimalist, Detroit-inspired funk on the microhouse-esque 'Loop' - another highlight with its perfectly placed and skewed vocal lead.

'Agnostic Title' runs close to 130bpm with a tight drum pattern reminiscent of the excellent 'Gesicht Aus Diamant' by 100Records, a minimal gem from 2005. Dima's track channels similar ecstatic synth propulsion, with what sounds like a warped choral disintegration washing in and out of the stereo field. More trippy vocal distortions all around! The influences run wide and deep across Interzona, from beat tape hip-hop to US house/techno and library music. The ambient closing cuts also tread a similar path at points to label mate Flaty's AEM Rhythm Cascade & Dices collaboration.
