Something I do for fun, as a sideline to my own music, is use old moreish instrumentals, write lyrics for them, and add my vocals, basically to prove I can even interpret moreish music, so anyone out there who does anything like this, put me to the test. 
You may think how crazy, but I would love to throw in tunes like this during a stage show that bounces around from one genre to the next, the kind of totally unpredictable set that attracts the most eclectic and eccentric audience on the planet,; the only kind of live performance I could really enjoy doing!

I don't respond to musicians that just add, or just click like buttons, because it doesn't prove they actually listened!

Please don't just click the like button, because i don't know whether it means you didn't actually listen, or you don't think it's good enough to comment on! I will only return support to musicians I know have actually listened; anyone can click the like button, and many do, without actually listening!

I BREAK ALL THE RULES DEFINING THE MUSIC MAKING PROCESS, SIMPLY BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW THEM! 

AND BECAUSE THEY ARE UNFAMILIAR, UNPREDICTABLE, FROM ONE CREATION TO THE NEXT, ONE TUNE WILL ONLY TELL YOU AS MUCH AS READING ONE PAGE OF A NOVEL, AND ONE LISTEN, NO MORE THAN A PARAGRAPH :)

I DOUBT ANY MUSICIAN WILL EVER MATCH DAVID BOWIE'S BRILLIANCE; NO ONE WILL EVER INHERIT HIS CROWN, BUT I DON'T THINK ANYONE ELSE WILL COME CLOSER.

THIS MIGHT SOUND LIKE AN AMBITIOUS CLAIM, BUT I WOULDN'T BE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO MAKE IT IF I HADN'T REACHED THE POINT IN MY CREATIVE LIFE TO DO IT.

IN SOME WAYS I FALL SHORT, BECAUSE I PRODUCE TUNES SO RAPIDLY, THEY DON'T GET THE CARE AND ATTENTION THEY MIGHT RECEIVE IN A STUDIO, AND MY TUNES ARE NOT LITTERED WITH GREAT MUSICIANS; THE VAST MAJORITY OF MY TUNES ARE SOLO PROJECTS, AND I RARELY SPEND MORE THAN A DAY ON EACH TUNE, YET THEY ARE ALWAYS INNOVATIVE, CREATIVE, IMAGINATIVE, COVERING THE WHOLE SPECTRUM FROM DARK TO LIGHT.

NO BOUNDARIES IN MUSIC, SO I WANDER FROM GENRE TO GENRE WITHOUT THOUGHT OR INTENT, AND I CREATE ON THE FLY, YET MY TUNES ARE STRONGER THAN MANY TUNES THAT GET THE FULL TREATMENT, INVOLVING MONTHS OF WORK, AND PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING!

IF LISTENERS KEEP THIS IN MIND, THEY WILL REALIZE THE TUNES I CREATE EXIST OUTSIDE NORMAL BOUNDARIES. VIEW THEM AS DEMOS, CREATED ON THE FLY, AND COMPLETED, FROM START TO FINISH, IN LESS THAN A DAY--HOW MANY MUSICIANS COULD DO THAT, WITHOUT SACRIFICING  STRENGTH,  DEPTH, ORIGINALITY AND FRESHNESS,

 THE UNBIASED LISTENER WOULDN'T DISAGREE WITH MY CLAIM OF BEING THE SECOND COMING OF THE CHAMELEON OF POP; IF ANYTHING, I AM MORE ECLECTIC, EVEN THAN BOWIIE, AND MY LYRICS ARE EVERY BIT AS INNOVATIVE AS THE MUSIC. Welcome to my page, my peers, associates, friends, and musical family. I'm a lifelong, multi-instrumentalist musician who records prolifically and joyfully. You'll hear me play guitar, bass (regular four string, and four and five string fretless), mandolin, banjo, keys (piano, organ, synth), lap slide, sitar, and sing on my recordings here. I've been in a few dozen bands in my life, playing everything from bluegrass, jazz, rock, jam band, reggae, funk, afrobeat, Middle Eastern, traditional Irish, singer/songwriter, pop/covers, to experimental/avant garde. 
  Since I found SoundCloud a couple years ago, I've found many talented, creative people with whom to create music. However, in the summer of '23 I formed a band called The Eclectic Collective with some of my favorite musicians I've met through here. It started as a loose collective of musicians and coalesced into a core group of musicians who find other musicians with whom we'd like to make music, then run their songs through our process, and in effect add a full band. That core of The Eclectic Collective includes Tez (Llanpsych), J.J. Terrel, Ken (K2 and the Three), Stephen (Texmex Shaman), Chris (cgmaness), and Mark (mistermark). A couple of other musicians are frequent collaborators, as well, including Artur of Surfers Like Us, and Steve Vervaet of Steve's World. More recently, we've been joined by Carl of The Beautiful Dark fame. 
  The magic of music is amplified exponentially by each person adding to it. So, we really try to add our sorcery all kinds of music from all kinds of artists. Sometimes, we keep it within the group, but a lot of what we do is collaboration with other artists. Therefore these days, 100% of what I do is collaboration, within the group or with other artists on the side.
  I, and we, are also available for hire if you have a song or lyrics and you really want to add bigger instrumentation or a band and good production to it.

I also really like and am influenced by traditional Iranian, Palestinian, Indian, Sri Lankan, Sudanese, Mauritian, Somalian, Egyptian, West African, and Syrian music. I welcome anyone who plays non-western music to contact me for a collaboration, too.
 I'm overjoyed to have found my community on SoundCloud. This is a truly unique forum where everyone is sincerely trying to build each other up. The profoundly supportive and positive SoundCloud community has really opened up an exciting new world of collaboration for me. That is the main reason I'm in the Cloud, actually, to connect with other musicians and make music that I enjoy listening to, and hopefully others do, as well. I am ALWAYS looking to collaborate with interesting musicians, mostly though BandLab, which is where I record almost exclusively. It's a solid, free digital audio workstation hub where you can share recording projects, even if it's not where you make your recordings.
  Everything I do is live instrumental, not programmed, and using no computer beyond my phone. That's not to say that I would be opposed to using that kind of tool, it's just not my preferred medium with which to paint. If you like my music, please share it. A lack of listens proves nothing, other than the fact that no one is finding your tunes; it does not prove, as some believe, that your tunes must be crap, so don’t ever take such a ridiculous notion on board—on an internet FLOODED with music no listens rarely has anything to do with the quality of your music, your creative talent, is almost always down to the fact that the right audience can’t find your music, because finding it is now as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack!

For diversity and consistency, I am not hesitant in saying my Soundcloud pages house the most inventive creations on here. There are others making fabulous tunes, but no one is more prolific while maintaining a high standard of pole to pole invention, and that applies to the lyrics too. I won't escape obscurity and oblivion, but that proves nothing, the internet is way, way, WAY overcrowded with unsigned music, way too much mediocre stuff, which obscure anything exceptional out there; the wood hidden away behind lots and lots and LOTS of trees, and no one has the time to look for needles in haystacks, to find a diamond in the rough, it's just way too big a task, not humanely possible!

INVENTIVE, AUTHENTIC, DIVERSE MUSIC, INVENTIVE, AUTHENTIC, IMAGINATIVE LYRICS, but those are the last things the vast majority of listeners are looking for these days!

Me, I'm awestruck by musicians who can't be pigeonholed, who don't conform to any borders, who don't think about which direction each new creation will take, they just go wherever that creativity takes them; pure, on the fly, innovation, imperfect but 100% authentic, as far a way from manufactured, recipe book, regurgitation, as it is possible to get, totally unforced, inspirational and way, way, WAY outside the box! There ought to be a place for such creativity, there was at one time, but a mercenary music industry put an end to that, leaving us with a situation where those who deserve the most adoration for the talents receive the least!

Listening to just one of my tunes tells you nothing about my creative approach, listening to ten of my tunes will still tell you very little, listen to a hundred of my tunes and the penny will start to drop, but it's only after hearing 500+ of my creations and collaborations that your eyes will widen in amazement! 
However, if you don't have unlimited eclectic taste none of that applies, and the reality is, who, in this world, is going to listen to every tune I've created, no one--if even one tune is heard from beginning to end it's a minor miracle, because sadly, there is a belief that unsigned means inferior, but I've heard enough tunes by the rest of you guys to know that's a myth, that's bullshit, we create some of the most inventive, authentic, imaginative tunes out there!
Give me unsigned, independent and underground music over signed, safe, predictable, recipe book, music any day of the week!
