Roberto, alias Von Gotisch, creative mind and founder of Goth Town, is a musician, multi-instrumentalist and singer, composer and sound engineer. Born in Naples (Italy) where he lives and works producing his own music and that of many groups of musicians in his area. He has played live in Italy, the United States, France, Holland, Greece and elsewhere. Roberto has worked over the years as a musician, sound engineer, arranger and producer with and for many bands of different genres, from rock to metal, jazz, progressive, experimental, punk, new wave, gothic and even classical music. Always against every scheme, against rules, impositions, against the system and against all oppression. Art, the real one, whatever form it may have, is not only Culture, but also Rebellion and through this fusion of elements, as has often happened over the centuries, a new path is always born, a new communication, a new way to be free , to change oneself and the entire world. The Goth Town musically they range from gothic atmospheres, new wave, rock, post punk, ambient, ballads, up to dark chamber neoclassical, mixing everything in a personal way. Sounds and atmospheres which give the listener the possibility of contemplating what he hears and exploring his own moods, songs which are always intense, but not obsessive, atmospheres dark but not sad, made with that bitter taste that life sometimes gives or imposes on you, depending on your point of view, but it is lifeblood, something that cannot be done without. The lyrics are by reflection and sonic contagion, existentialist, hermetic and visionary, delicate or violent and take inspiration from the reality inherent in the literature of past centuries and bring it back into modern life, where the reader-listener can read and listen to the stories, the sounds and moods, making them their own, because even if times change, existence repeats itself over the centuries. It's like listening to yourself, the self in the past, the anachronism of your present.

After fronting the Sex Pistols, John Lydon formed post-punk originators Public Image Ltd (PiL). Widely regarded as one of the most innovative bands of all time, their music and vision earned them 5 UK Top 20 Singles and 5 UK Top 20 Albums.
 
With a shifting line-up and unique sound – fusing rock, dance, folk, pop and dub – Lydon guided the band from their debut album ‘First Issue’ in 1978 through to 1992’s ‘That What Is Not’, before a 17 year hiatus.
 
Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009 – re-recruiting Lu Edmonds and Bruce Smith from the 1980’s line-up together with new recruit Scott Firth – touring extensively and releasing two critically acclaimed albums ‘This is PiL’ in 2012 followed by ‘What The World Needs Now…’ in 2015.
 
John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith continue as PiL. They are the longest stable line-up in the band’s history and continue to challenge and thrive.
 
2023 promises to be an exciting year for PiL…

Elektra/Asylum is of course famously associated with the earth-toned California sound of the ‘70s. Meanwhile, on the New York City underground, something both weird and wonderful was happening. Led by guitarists Tom Verlaine (née Thomas Miller) and Richard Lloyd, Television formed in 1973 from the ashes of the legendary Neon Boys, which featured Verlaine, drummer Billy Ficca, and a gifted poet/bassist by the name of Richard Hell. With Lloyd as second guitarist, Television persuaded CBGB’s owner Hilly Kristal to give the fledgling band a gig at his recently opened Bowery bar, making them the first rock band to officially play at the soon-to-be-celebrated venue.
A demo recorded with producer Brian Eno failed to get the band signed and by 1975, friction between Verlaine and Hell saw the latter leaving Television to co-found The Heartbreakers with Johnny Thunders and later, his own hugely significant Richard Hell & The Voidoids. Now counting original Blondie bassist Fred Smith among their ranks, Television began turning heads with their geometric dual guitar interplay, psych-garage energy, and Verlaine’s cryptic lyricism.

The band soon signed to Elektra, whose long history of releasing brave new artists continued with 1977’s milestone debut, Marquee Moon. Epic and eloquent, the album remains an all-time masterwork of forward-thinking rock‘n’roll. Television’s sophomore effort, entitled Adventure, followed in 1978, bearing a more textured sound than its esteemed predecessor.
Television broke up shortly after their second album’s release, with Lloyd and Verlaine each opting to pursue their own singular creative visions. In Verlaine’s case, that included a brilliant self-titled solo debut, released on Elektra in 1979.

By the 1990s, Television was appreciated as both pre-punk pioneers and one of rock’s all-time most important bands. As such, they reunited in 1992 for an eponymous third album and then continued performing live on a semi-regular basis. In 2007, Lloyd was forced to leave Television following an extended hospital stay that prevented him from performing at the band’s sold-out concert in New York’s Central Park. Though Lloyd was replaced on that evening by guitarist Jimmy Ripp, the gig now officially stands as Television’s last.
