Shambhala has a special place in my heart as my introduction to electronic music festivals and its ability to bring people together as a community. This mix is a representation of my curiosity with a wide array of electronic music that was initially fostered by attending this festival. 

Diverse in selection and tempo, but fluid in its presentation, the mix will go through tracks that have struck a nerve with me, paired with new/unreleased music from myself and friends. I hope you enjoy it and I can’t wait to perform at Shambhala for my first time this year!

When I think of up and coming artists in the Pacific Northwest, two names instantly come to mind: Seattle-based producers Xakra and Klippee have both been making waves all across the bass music spectrum lately, with huge releases on Encrypted Audio and Lifestyle Music respectively, big shows from The Black Box in Denver all the way to the UK, and massive support on their tunes from the likes of Noisia, Hyroglifics, Khiva, and many more. While Chase Transeth AKA Klippee tends to find himself in the drum and bass and uptempo beat music domain, Xakra can be found in the swamps of 140 bpm and anything dubstep-adjacent, and the latter is where today's premiere lies. A clear nod to the classic wobble of pre-2010 Tempa and Deep Medi Records era dubstep with a modern twist, "Squad Car" is a shining example of why the 140 scene is alive and well in 2020. As you can see from the track list, this mix is an all original mix and full of unreleased goodies from him and his collaborators. An exciting and well curated ride that adequately displays Tsou’s prowess behind the decks and what you could expect to hear from his sets and a peek of what’s to come in 2020.

We’re stoked to have Tsou on our roster and honored to call him friend. This guy is insanely prolific and has established a sound for himself that he easily manipulates through styles and tempos. We have watched him integrate into the local Portland scene quickly and he is becoming a staple, playing for multiple promoters in town while also seeing and hearing many DJ’s, producers, and fans giving him shouts and playing him out.
