Gottwood Mix #53 - Demi Riquísimo

Up next in our mix series, we have the Space Dust & Sisu resident, KT.  

A London-based DJ respected for her dynamic digging and skilful selections. She’s kindly managed to slot a mix for us into her busy DJ schedule, and we’re very excited to share it with you!

KT brings us a seamless journey through her record collection, spanning 90’s house, electro, acid, and techno. This 1 hour masterclass perfectly showcases her sophisticated taste and gives an insight into what you can expect from this exciting DJ’s diverse sets. 

You can catch KT at one of her many upcoming shows in London,  Edinburgh, Paris, Barcelona, Malta, and Albania. Most excitingly for us you can check out KT's Gottwood debut where she’ll be playing the Friday on The Lighthouse stage for the Jive Talk & Friends takeover.

Gottwood Mix #54 - KT

In the driving  seat for the next mix in our series is the @RinseFM regular Jay Carder. 

The London-based DJ and producer has built a name for herself with her genre-spanning eclectic taste and energetic sets. Jay has an uncanny ability to whip any crowd into a frenzy with anything from Trip-Hop, techno, uk bass, breaks, and jungle. 

Jay’s debut release ‘Eva’s Stoned’ dropped earlier this year on @Kassiansound @FauxPoly label which catapulted her name further, gaining her support from @BBC6music

For this instalment we’re fortunate to have a live recording taken from her set last year at the Lighthouse stage. 
A late night journey through stripped back garage, techno and deep breakbeat cuts. It’s an educational journey and a clear demonstration why Jay is one of the scene’s most sought after DJs.

Gottwood  #60 - Papa Nugs

For our final mix of 2023, we have Kenny Blacksmith, a friend of the festival and an all-around top selector.

This London-based Scotsman played a pivotal role in London's esteemed SlothBoogie label for almost a decade. Now, in 2024, he unveils a new solo project, emphasising studio craftsmanship and a return to digging and sharing his extensive record collection.

In this mix, Ken takes you on a journey through his collection and shares some new favorites, seamlessly blending his taste for deeper dubs and acid cuts. Here's a quote from the man himself about the mix: “Using a combination of 12’s from recent digs in Berlin, Edinburgh, and London, alongside some sneaky unreleased gems, this mix has been compiled with the hope that it can transport you to a particularly special Friday at the Lighthouse. Kicking off our mix series for 2024 is London-based DJ and Sticky Plastik label curator, Marcelina Wick.

After delivering a stellar set on the lighthouse at Gottwood a couple of years ago, we couldn't be happier that she's contributing to our mix series.

In her mix, Marcelina showcases her signature style, of effortlessly blending between carefully selected records that guide you through a mesmerising range of sound, from house to techno/electro, tech-house, and minimal.

Having played at some of London's leading venues and parties, as well as a string of international gigs, it's easy to see why Marcelina is making waves in the underground dance music scene. Gottwood Mix #64 - PACH.

At the wheel for the next mix in our series is '@Bizarre Trax' Co-Founder, B.Love!

The London-based B.Love is a staple in the city's underground scene and is gaining a lot of traction with his smooth yet energetic style, that's underpinned with solid grooves. His latest release on his self-titled imprint, 'B.Love', is a showcase of his funk-infused, sample-heavy production style and is sure to be in many DJ's bags this summer.

This live recording from last year's Gottwood features the first hour of B.Love's set, and we're super excited to share it with you. Showcasing an eclectic selection in his signature funky style, B.Love's sundown set on the 'Curve' really had the crowd moving from start to finish and is a moment that still lingers in our minds

Returning to Gottwood this year, we can expect another stellar performance from B.Love, and we look forward to welcoming him back.

Our good friends https://soundcloud.com/khruangbin brought their blend of ambient guitars and 'thai-funk' to the lawn stage on Sunday afternoon this year. It was a magical journey of meandering music that caught pretty much everyone off guard, in a great way, https://soundcloud.com/move-d even went as far as defining it as his favourite moment of the entire festival. We recorded the set and here it is, one of the only recorded live sets you'll find of this very special band.

Inspiration for Ross From Friends comes from all corners of the musical milieu. From early experimental music to hip-hop sampling - even 80s Eurobeat and Hi-NRG helps to make up the comprehensive sound palette that Ross has the liberty of drawing from. Fashioning these wide-ranging influences into cleverly compressed and effervescent pieces of music, the output you hear from Ross is just as certain to make you move as it is to make you feel.

After Ross' debut EP on Breaker Breaker Recordings, his music gained traction online in late-2015 through a series of mysterious SoundCloud uploads. He went onto attract the attention of London label Distant Hawaii who released his much-anticipated 'You'll Understand' EP. After that it all escalated with the London-based producer going onto release a Lobster Theremin white label 12” at the start of 2017. A number of exciting creative endeavors are also on the cusp of fruition with an imminent EP on Lone’s Magicwire Recordings this summer. 

We can't wait for his live show on the Sunday this year!

This is Sir Enzo's first podcast since his outstanding BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and it showcases a different side to how he would usually play. This is @enzosiragusa taking London's Village Underground from an empty room to full club at his recent ‘All.Day.Long’ Fuse event in February. Following a break in our mix series after what can only be described as very a strange year for everyone, we were blown away by this amazing mix of house and techno. Never breaking his groove, @northsouthrecords boss and very much a big part of the Gottwood family after years of service and also recently releasing his track "Fun Dome" on our Gottwax label, @sambangura delivers in a big way!

Explaining his thinking behind the recording, Sam explains "Seeing as we couldn’t enjoy the magic of Gottwood this year I wanted to bring some of it to everyone through this mix. Imagining the sun shining next to the lake as day turns to night, I hope this goes some way to recreating that!"
