We welcome https://soundcloud.com/oflynnmusic to the fray, and for this instalment of the mix series he has bought a selection of his diverse edit heavy records from across the world. From blues to jazz to disco to afrobeat, this mix takes you through a journey of the mind of a very talented producer and DJ.

Gottwood Mix #027 - O'Flynn

Blackhall & Bookless, the brains behind Newcastles infamous club night Jaunt> sent the Trigon off in style last year with a section of faultless techno. They return again year and ahead of their performance they have delivered a sublime edition to the Gottwood Mix Series.

Gottwood Mix #028 - Blackhall & Bookless

Inspiration for Ross From Friends comes from all corners of the musical milieu. From early experimental music to hip-hop sampling - even 80s Eurobeat and Hi-NRG helps to make up the comprehensive sound palette that Ross has the liberty of drawing from. Fashioning these wide-ranging influences into cleverly compressed and effervescent pieces of music, the output you hear from Ross is just as certain to make you move as it is to make you feel.

After Ross' debut EP on Breaker Breaker Recordings, his music gained traction online in late-2015 through a series of mysterious SoundCloud uploads. He went onto attract the attention of London label Distant Hawaii who released his much-anticipated 'You'll Understand' EP. After that it all escalated with the London-based producer going onto release a Lobster Theremin white label 12” at the start of 2017. A number of exciting creative endeavors are also on the cusp of fruition with an imminent EP on Lone’s Magicwire Recordings this summer. 

We can't wait for his live show on the Sunday this year!

Recorded prior to appearing at this years festival, this is an hour of records from the multi-Instrumentalist producer behind the https://soundcloud.com/ishmaelensemble. The hour of music touches on everything from jazz and afro to electronic drum machine jams and is perfect to soundtrack any Monday.

Ahead of his performance on The Lawn at Gottwood this year Dj Nomad, the digger of exotic rhythms from across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, the seasoned graffiti artist in Berlin and one half of Africaine 808 pieced together a live mix from all corners of the globe.

This is Sir Enzo's first podcast since his outstanding BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and it showcases a different side to how he would usually play. This is @enzosiragusa taking London's Village Underground from an empty room to full club at his recent ‘All.Day.Long’ Fuse event in February. It’s a deep, steady and hypnotic mix and proves why he has become an essential mainstay of the scene.

Gottwood Mix #033 - Michal Ziętara

Good friend of ours and former Mulletover resident https://soundcloud.com/geddes provides a 60 min soundtrack for the latest edition of our series episode. Geddes was an integral cog in the evolution of a thriving London underground house and techno scene and this mix showcases everything he has grown to be known, and well respected for.

Next up is our good friend Robert James. We spoke to him in person about this mix and this is what he said, 

"So I've decided to go deep on this one, less club orientated and more warmup vibes. I picked out a load of records from my collection, pressed record, had a mix and this is it. There was no planning involved apart from just to keep it deep as possible, so more of the B sides than A. I have been a resident at DC10 for 7 years now and I'm usually on warmup duties which I have always loved. Getting the chance to play records you can't really play at a peak time slot. So here is my mix and I hope you enjoy it."

Gottwood Mix #035 - Robert James

Two thirds of Traffic Records, Bodin & Jacob, step-up for the 36th installment of the Gottwood mix series. 

Traffic form a vital part of the blossoming Frankfurt/Offenbach music scene; their own sound sitting in a somewhat undefined territory; there are elements of electro, 2-step, tech-house, minimal and everything in between.

Nixwax have invited them to play 3hrs back-to-back in The Walled Garden on Thursday night at Gottwood 2018.

They delved deep into their archive and pulled out some old favourites from their infamous Bad Passion parties in London. Also they start off with possibly the sassiest intro of all time! Gottwood Mix #038 - Not An Animal

“Being asked back to Gottwood for the third time is a huge privilege as its a festival I look forward to every year…the location, the music and the people are always so amazing, and really has a vibe of its own. So when they asked me to do a mix for the podcast, I wanted to do something that was a little different to some of the mixes I have done recently. I really went through my records for this one, going back through my vinyl over the last 15 years and picking some old favourites as well as some newer stuff and a few unreleased tracks and edits from me.

Its one of my favourite mixes for a while...hope everyone likes it!”

Gottwood Mix #039 - Waifs & Strays

The https://soundcloud.com/krywaldandfarrer story as a duo began at Gottwood. Having attended every year to date and playing since year 3 their paths crossed through mutual friends, and shortly after they began playing back to back and then officially as a duo. Now they are known for being lifetime residents of London based Percolate and for their Persies label. 

Here they have completed a mix which has been a long time in the making, it is designed for the road up to Gottwood from their base in London. They are very familiar with the road up and have designed it to carry you through the emotions of the start, the gruelling motorway slogs and the final stretch. If you live half way perhaps you have a mix for the journey to and from.

"A diverse collection of tracks by some of my favourite musicians and producers, ranging from acid breaks to salsa and beyond. Laced with helpings of space echo and interspersing tempo changes, the mix inevitably grew quickly. 

I have been performing at Gottwood for many years and now, under a different moniker, it’s a pleasure to be joining the 2019 line up to share my solo project."

Gottwood Mix #045 - S_AS

On our 10th birthday we had the pleasure of Egyptian Lover playing for us. Anyone who was in the Walled Garden on the Saturday will no doubt tell you how special this was. The atmosphere created by this man was electric. He managed to style out his fader breaking within 5 minutes of his performance....without anyone noticing until he casually let us know towards the end of his set. His parting words were "Enjoy your life" - cheers to that. Free DL available
