We like nice things, and set in the exceptionally beautiful surroundings of the Rhodope Mountains lies the quaint Bulgarian village of Polkovnik Serafimovo. 850m above sea-level and a stones throw away from the Greek border, this enchanting village is where Meadows in the Mountains likes to call home. Historically the country has been invaded and conquered by the Roman Empire, Gengis Khan, Alexander the Great and was finally enveloped by the mighty communist iron curtain (and now us!). As a result the local area has a rich cultural heritage including ancient Thracian sites such as Perperikon and Tatul; medieval castles, churches, monasteries and scenic villages with traditional Bulgarian architecture from 18th and 19th century. The Rhodopes is the greenest and most picturesque Bulgarian mountain range and is also known as the homeland of the mythological singer Orpheus. Orpheus was a legendary musician, poet, and prophet in ancient Greek religion and myth. Based in Berlin, DJ, curator, queer-activist, Ipek Ipekcioglu produces an extraordinary warm, dynamic and organic interpretation of electronic music melted with the melodramatic sound of Anatolia/Mesopotamia, Turkey, Orient & the Middle East. 
Ipek Ipekcioglu received German Record Critics' Award for her Beyond Istanbul Albums @ Trikont and was named as a musical and political "visionary" by the Süddeutsche Zeitung. and cited as a representative for “ideologically blinker-free living” by Rolling Stone Magazine. 
The socialy- critical minded producer is an activist and member of female: pressure network and has a strong social-critical agenda related to women, immigrant, queer and gender topics which she transports into her productions. Ipek has been pushing boundaries within the ethnic & electronic music scene and communities for over two decades. This vibrant mix and her work have earned her a place as “one of Berlin’s most important cultural contributors” [Zitty Magazine]. She proudly carries the title of "MC of cross-cultural understanding" (Daniel Bax - TAZ).
Ipek has performed at Glastonburry, Fusion, Sziget, Garbicz, At. tension, Ms Dockville, Womex and many more international electronic and world music festivals from New York City, Beirut, Erbil, Yerevan, Marseille, Los Angeles, Salvador de Bahia, Cairo, Sana’a, Istanbul, Seoul, Novosibirsk to the desert Sahara of Mali, developing an exclusive brand name with her unique & hybrid Sound mix. She has toured throughout, China, Siberia, Japan and the US.

Singer & Vocal Coach & Founder 

Born in Istanbul-Turkey, İrem Derlen began her vocal studies with the famous soprano Filiz Ergün in the opera department in “State Conservatory of University of Istanbul”. At the Conservatory of Istanbul, she worked as a dramatic soprano in chorus and lead. She graduated from opera & sociology department in 2001 and in the same year she started to work in CRR Concert Hall as a concert & chorus singer. Under the direction of various Turkish maestros and composers, she appeared in numerous local and international
operas and music productions. The next year at the conservatory, she was selected for having a master's degree in opera winning the first title, but as she wanted to have a master's degree in interdisciplinary actions; she changed her master's study from opera to art in 2002.

She began her master's degree of art in Yıldız Technical University. In her thesis, she studied on the subject of “The Production, Distribution and Consumption Process of Music Industry in Turkey after 1990s”, and graduated in 2005.

In 2002-2003 she worked as a chorus singer in CRR Concert Hall with The Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and CRR Symphony Orchestra. Shortly after, she worked in a contemporary music ensemble named "Committee Ensemble" as a lead soprano singer, and performed in different concerts and musical theaters. After graduation, she started to work with different orchestras. With the Jazz band "Bagdat Avenue" she gave concerts in many jazz halls and universities, and she performed in various local music halls such as “Cabaret Cine, Büyük Klüp (Cercle D’Orient) and Fenerbahçe Ordu Evi”.

İrem can perform in many styles; jazz standards, latin, pop, disco, Turkish ethnic & folk songs, opera/neapolitan music, oldies; and can sing in 12 languages. 

While taking part in many jingles, radio spots and album records as a singer; she is also working in a private music school as a voice teacher/vocal coach. She is giving lessons in opera, jazz and pop singing and is experienced in solo voicing.

As the lead vocal of the pop jazz band “Harikalar Diyarı”, she performed in the album named “Bak Kalbine” which was released from JKS & EMI Music in 2010.

İrem is working with the music band “Grup Tria” since 2008 and performs in business meetings, congress & conventions, and wedding ceremonies…

Her first maxi single “Gidelim Haydi” inclusive of three songs (Gidelim, Haydi, İçindedir, Yoksa) was published by Kınay Production in July 2017.

Her second single Kaç Kez (feat. Gürkan Kömürcü) was published by Kınay Production in June 2018 and the promotional work of the single continues at full speed.
