Picture this: 8 year old me going back-to-school-shopping  with my mom. We have just entered the shopping mall. Beelining it for Tillys

We have just entered Tilly’s. There is a wide selection of graphic T-shirts and colorful socks. I’m trying to control my excitement. My mother is about to drop some serious cash. Fuck it, i might even get a backpack too

I am pulling clothing from the rack at lighting speeds. I am moving so fast that my motion is almost completely blurred to any onlooker. Anything with the word Neff is going in the shopping cart.  All T-shirts that say Supreme are going in the cart. Large handfuls of I <3 Boobies bracelet’s are also being thrown into the cart (for the ladies). If I grab something that doesn’t fit I’m throwing it back in the general direction I grabbed it from — Draped over a T-shirt that is hanging. I can’t re-hang the T-shirts because hangers are far too complex. I am 8 years old for Christ’s sake! God the kids at school are going to be so jealous.

I've been here for almost 2 hours now. I'm starting to become exhausted from sprinting around the store + I have baseball practice in 2 hours. The shopping cart is completely full. We go to the counter to checkout and my Mother decides that I don’t need 80% of the things I have thrown in the cart. She makes me choose which ones are my absolute favorite. I tell her it’s impossible because I like them all the same. She see’s through my lies and chooses a couple of items herself. I am pissed. I thought my mom was really with the shits, but turns out she is a fake. We (she) purchases the items and we leave the store.

I’m holding her hand while walking through the mall but then suddenly break away and dash to a store window to checkout a mannequin on a skateboard. He has really cool vans on. I can’t skateboard yet, but I have been working on my Ollie and I am nearly there. I figure I need these shoes to really get to that next level. I am mesmerized by the mannequin but after staring for a couple minutes I notice my mother isn’t around. I turn around to find her but all I see is a sea of people — no mother in sight. I try not to freak out but can’t help it. I start sprinting around the mall frantically searching for her. She seems to have vanished into thin air

It’s been another hour and 10 minutes. Still no mother in sight. I checked the entire second floor and then decided to check the third and fourth floor just in case she decided to go upstairs. After sprinting around the mall for a while some older asian lady saw me crying and contacted  mall security. I am now with them sitting in their office. They asked me for her cellphone, but I can’t remember that shit. I’m 8 years old for christ’s sake! Baseball practice is simply out of the question — there is no way I’m making it on time. God I can’t wait for my mom to find me. She is going to have some explaining to do.
