Grimsey

Grímsey started up in early 2015 around the music of Finnish guitarist/composer Matti Saarinen. He had lived in Iceland since 2006 and written solo, chamber music and big band charts. It was, however, a traditional guitar trio formation that turned out to be able to capture the essence of Saarinen’s music.
August 2015, Grímsey recorded their debut album in Helsinki which has been released by Icelandic label Waren Music in June 2016. The band toured in Iceland followed by a series of album release concerts in Finland, including Pori Jazz and Jazz Espa.
Grímsey´s second album was released 2019 (Eclipse Music).
New music is being worked on and will be given out 2024.
