Great song and the vocals and rhythm tracks that support it are awesome! But who is Grace? Is this a character in one or your books or it's a name for your vocalists who serve as protagonist characters in your songs? I LOVE the spoken word whispers at the end. Did you take a break for awhile or have I been missing seeing when you drop new tracks?

This song started as an idea Bill came up with on his acoustic guitar. Having found each other on the Cloud and enjoying each other's music, Josh and Bill decided to do a collab. Bill is a real deal guitarist, who's as prolific as he is skilled. Of course, Josh invited Eclectic Collective to the party, too.
  Shortly after doing so, he laid down a bass part to Bill's skeleton withi his four string fretless bass. Ken followed suit, and after a back and forth, completed the rhythms secion. JJ dug in next, adding the thrilling strings that highlight the high points of the melody. 
  There wasn't a whole lot of room for everyone on this, though, as Bill had the guitar parts nailed down tight. However, after sitting on the shelf for about half a year, Carl came along and added the missing piece with his raucuos vocals. Stephen also fattened up the sound a bit with his acoustic rhythm guitar.  
  Once it was in the can, we asked Stephen to work his production, mix, and mastering magic on it, too, which he came through with, as always.
  This brilliant song almost didn't see the light of day. It sat for what felt like forever, until we decided to revive it. This will not be the last collab we do with Bill, though, who was generous in not only sharing his music with us, but allowing us to do whatever we wanted with it, too. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

This cover of the CCR version of this Screaming Jay Hawkins classic began as an idea Josh had for Eclectic Collective putting on a musical Halloween costume. He was inspired by his favorite band, Phish, who cover an entire album every Halloween as a musical costume. Although, which song we covered was up for debate from the start.

Once we decided on a song, Josh laid down the skeleton for it on his '71 SG. Once we had a framework to work with, Ken laid down his rocking drums, followed by Josh completing the rhythm section by adding his trusty P-bass. Even though the song was now in its infancy, Carl summoned all his Halloween spirit for his dynamic vocal performance.

Now that it was sounding like a real song, JJ dropped both the key piano part, as well as his expressive organ in there, too. Mark wasn't far behind, adding his magic via the sax to the solo section, and strings in the third verse. Stephen came through with the spooky tremolo guitar and the fiery first half of the guitar solo in the solo section right after. And to put the cherry on the musical sundae, Tez brought the lightning down for the second half of the guitar solo, as well as the solo work that leads the whole way to the end.

We all enjoyed bringing this classic song back to life, and doing it in the spirit of what may be the most fun holiday on the calendar. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it. Happy Halloween!

Le paradoxe du chat de Schrödinger n’était pas une ode à la superposition quantique, mais une critique ironique de ses implications absurdes.
Aujourd’hui, la théorie de la décohérence peine à démontrer qu’un système isolé comme un chat pourrait vraiment rester dans un état "à la fois mort et vivant".
L’interaction avec l’environnement fait s’effondrer la magie… sans vraiment expliquer pourquoi ni comment.
Le chat continue de groover dans sa boîte cosmique, quelque part entre science, poésie et dérision.

Genre: Electropop / Dark Pop / Synth-Pop
Mood: Introspective, melancholic, jaded, and defiant.

Instrumentation: The track is built on a foundation of atmospheric synthesizers, a steady electronic drum beat (driven by a simple kick and snap), and a prominent synth-bass line that gives it a pulsing groove.
Vocals: The song features a female vocalist with a soft, breathy, and intimate delivery during the verses. In the chorus, her voice becomes more layered, processed, and insistent, emphasizing the emotional weight of the lyrics.

Lyrical Theme: The song is a raw and candid narrative about a struggle with sobriety and mental health, particularly in the wake of a "messy breakup."

Detriment

I’ve been writing off an on for over 25 years. My work is inspired by real life experiences, now woven into a historical fiction novel series to be released summer 2026. The novels accompany my original musical soundtrack.

My vision is to create an immersive experience where readers step fully into the story world—reading the novels while listening to the soundtrack—so that words and melodies converse with each other. This marks the beginning of a journey told through both language and sound, inviting readers to explore how music shapes memory, and how memory, in turn, shapes art.
