This playlist is a vibrant, eclectic mix that mirrors the emotional journey within a book series that I'm writing. 

The inspiration for the soundtrack grew midway through when I started weaving in a few of my old poems and song lyrics, some written as far back as 1988. Those verses, once tucked away in journals, grew into songs that gave the novels a second life in sound. Each track captures a chapter of the journey—soaring highs, private heartbreaks, longing, and redemption—mirroring the emotional terrain of the books.

The result is a vibrant blend of soul, pop, and soft rock, with every song tied to a scene, a character, or a turning point in the story. Together, the novels and the music create a layered experience—one meant to be both read and heard.

Ghost of December

Grace, 29, travels alone to Piha Beach in New Zealand, seeking clarity about her future. Years before, she was saved from a mugging by a local immigrant taxi driver who brought her home to his family. She grew close to them, especially their youngest son, Iakopo. Now, 10 years later, she falls hard for a mesmerizing stranger named Jacob—who tells her he is in his final year of law school only to discover he’s Iakopo, now only 18 and entering his first year in college.  Devastated by the deception, their age gap, and her responsibilities as a CEO, she leaves. This song echoes their anguish, betrayal, and the crushing weight of forbidden love.

This haunting track captures young Grace at her most vulnerable. She finds herself alone in the confessional, torn between devotion and desire. Raised in a strict Catholic household, she’s been taught that purity is her virtue, yet her heart and body betray her with forbidden longing. Hymns unravel into heartbeat rhythms as Grace’s innocence trembles beneath the weight of awakening. Each verse exposes her inner battle between faith and flesh, guilt and yearning. By the final refrain, her voice no longer pleads for forgiveness as she quivers with the dangerous relief of giving herself permission. It’s the sound of sin and salvation colliding in one breath.

I’ve been writing off an on for over 25 years. My work is inspired by real life experiences, now woven into a historical fiction novel series to be released summer 2026. The novels accompany my original musical soundtrack.

My vision is to create an immersive experience where readers step fully into the story world—reading the novels while listening to the soundtrack—so that words and melodies converse with each other. This marks the beginning of a journey told through both language and sound, inviting readers to explore how music shapes memory, and how memory, in turn, shapes art.
