Sri-Lanka born, Sweden raised, the enigmatic @Kalawila has an affinity for the uncertain, drawing inspiration from unconventional experiences and remote travels.

Through his time in Berlin, he realised techno was a modern way of describing a fundamental feeling dating back to ancient times. He explores this feeling within his DJ sets and productions on the likes of Bossmusik and his own label Mountain Explosion Device, examining textures and the void-like space between spaces.

We are happy to present the first Patterns of Perception mix of 2017 – a forward thinking, uncompromising affair from the immensely talented Swedish artist.

Dutch producer Samuel Van Dijk, best known for his gorgeous electro work as VC-118A, takes his Mohlao moniker out for an extended stroll on this double pack LP of otherworldly techno for quieter moments. From the barely-there whispers of "Rotar" to the wobbly unease of "Voltool One" this is a masterclass in minimal elements crafted to perfection. Lose yourself in the slow-creeping snow-crunch of "Hue" and meditate to the gentle housey pulse of "Flare" - at every turn this record presents you with just the kind of subliminal techno that Silent Season so dearly love.

Samuel van Dijk is an electronic music producer, sound designer and media artist from the Netherlands releasing deep electronic music as VC-118A, Mohlao, and Multicast Dynamics. Drawing inspiration from technology, nature, film, and fiction, his productions and live sets embody a dynamic musical framework. Since the Dutchman surfaced as Mohlao for labels like Meanwhile, Field and Other Heights at the turn of the decade, van Dijkʼs music has found a firm position; the ethereal electro VC-118A project, deep ambient techno as Mohlao, and subterranean ambient as Multicast Dynamics.

"Oblique returns with a highly personal project: 3 tracks from (or with) friends who all helped create/inspire/influence the sound of the label.

Ivano Tetelepta, Roger Gerressen and Ben Buitendijk already had loads of jam sessions when suddenly "Dilated Pupils" happened. It launched a project that consists of spontaneous studio jams in various formats (involving a dozen of befriended artists on multiple EP's, remixes and even an label). Six years later the original track, after which the project was named, will finally see the light of day!

Bas Amro's "Languor" shows that he, besides having an ear for reimagining classics, can also do his own ;)

Cyspe's "Reminisce" more than deserves the full B-side to close the EP off. A stunning 14 minute trip through the depths of what this incredibly talented producer has to offer!"

We're arrived to the tenth chapter of Greyscale story. It's definitely a milestone for us. For this special occasion label boss grad_u is back with "UMWELT", his first full length album since “Endless Space” that was released back in 2012. 
The umwelt theory states that the mind and the world are inseparable, because it is the mind that interprets the world. So in this ten-track album artist is focusing on the world around him, believing that the environment he's in subconsciously translates into his works. This time grad_u takes it even further - some of the tracks are incorporating the actual field recordings from his usual environment, while the others reshaping the feelings felt in the surroundings into the lush sonic passages.
