Where Is the Party At? Well, def in Iceland as far as we are concerned! We welcome the splendid Moff & Tarkin to our label family with this dope and energetic release. The Icelandic artist currently based in Vienna dropped us these fine tunes and we just couldn’t resist. Hard hitting acid/breakbeat rave-y house anthems! And adding longtime companion and friend Felix Leifur as a bonus on this release means Double trouble!

The driving opening track “Dry Paint” is a proper belter, a mix of old school acid house/techno with really catchy vocal samples, propelling any dance floor into oblivion. The party is certainly started here! Moff & Tarkin says: “There are a lot of acid + drum machine jams out there and I wanted to do my own, feel like I never did one. This was the outcome. Will buy anyone a Poke bowl who spots the sample.”

Onwards to the beautifully laidback yet also very rave-y breakbeat jam that is “Boyhood”. Moff & Tarkin says: Meant to be a breaky rave track, ended up being something else. You might be able to rave to it (is that a saying?) but you might also just be able to take a walk.

“Show Up!” is taking the pace a step further down again and brings us back to a more old school Hip Hop 90s vibe, a strange yet great mixture of styles in this one, you have that nasty acid-y sound and those trance-y arpeggio stabs on top of a solid breakbeat.

Moff & Tarkin says: This track features a sample that I had been thinking about using for years. Mentioned it to my friend when we were bowling, it was a Saturday night which meant it was disco bowling, which I think means they have disco lights and play bad music. Anyways I bowled a few games then I got home and started working on this track. The sample is not the one you think it is.

Closing out with the ever-brilliant Felix Leifur on remix duties. Well what can we say? been far too long we have heard new music from this guy! He takes on “Dry Paint” in his signature nasty way. Pushing the limits and adding hard hitting acid sounds and in the middle of the track turning the whole thing into a real breakbeat frenzy! We love this version so much! Happy to have Felix back with such a strong offering! Play these ones out loud! With a BANG!

Recorded in Trieste in 1993 by Edoardo Milani and Tullio Battisti, “Bubbles (Soap Mix)” is a slice of colorful, sun-soaked euphoria, a track delightfully leftfield and playful in a way so rarely found in club music. Originally released on Italy’s Promo Music label, it was quickly lost to time, a masterpiece locked away on an extremely hard to find 12”, soon growing in notoriety among DJs and collectors.

Bliss Point’s reissue of this classic includes two remixes from contemporary luminaries, each interpreting the timeless sound of Bubbles for the 21st century. Tokyo’s boys be kko explores the soaring complexity of the original, and New Yorker Olive T offers a thumping take on its deep and tender heart. The original “Acapella” version is also included.

Hard at it since 2009, the label is the brainchild of two house and disco fanatics searching for an outlet their creative endeavours. WOLF has always been about the real HOUSE culture; the music and expressions from day dot to the most modern interpretations. Bringing onboard artists like Greymatter, KRL, Medlar, Bicep, Waze & Odyssey, James Welsh and Session Victim.
 
Next up on WOLF Music is label family Medlar; a key character on the London underground scene, with most of his hours spent making, buying, playing, or talking about music, which lends him the sort of knowledge and understanding that makes him stand apart from the crowd.  With this unique perspective Medlar joins the dots between sounds and scenes from yesterday to today with a real sense of narrative. His productions take in anything from deep and Detroit to acid or downtempo. A cutting and mastering engineer at the cult Peckham Cuts Dubplate Shop, he has spent time connecting people with the music they need in their life at Rye Wax Records, as well as releasing on the shop’s own West Friends label.  Since his debut on WOLF in 2012, he has since evolved into a unique and eclectic producer releasing on labels like Delusions of Grandeur, Riverette, and West End Records. 
 
Medlar is back once again on WOLF Music, and this time he’s brought a couple of friends along for the ride. Here the WOLF OG showcases four solid Deep House cuts with some UK & US flavours.

The steadily brilliant French producer Nathan Melja - who's made the rounds between choice outlets over the past half decade, from Mister Saturday Nights to Antinote, via Ninja Tune offshoot Technicolour and Opal Tapes, seems to have learnt Bruce Lee's lesson by heart, and his seamlessly fluid, no-nonsense debut foray on KOC is here to potently cement his status as one of Europe's number one club trailblazers, and one that knows all too well how to turn any dancefloor into an infinity pool of pure liquid euphoria.

Drawing its name from the physiological and psychological process that results in a confusion of one's sensory perceptions, 'Synesthesia' is indeed the kind of club single that shall trigger off massive reaction amongst right-minded bipeds and chromakey house suckers. Straightforward club business done right, Melja's original is a vivid kaleidoscope of skittish drums, swampy bass stabs and a well-rounded, supremely curvy synthwork, tailored to take ravers on a flash journey through space and time without the help of Richard Branson or Elon Tusk (pun intended).

Called in on remix duty, TTT affiliate and Incienso co-founder Anthony Naples delivers a more fragmented and ambientish variation, though functional and club-ready in its own right. Brushing even wider verbed-out pad tapestries for your brain to wander in, the track expands to deeper organic horizons with a field-depth that can not but recall that of the KLF and Bochum Welt's emotional soundscaping. Meanwhile, Karenn half Pariah takes care of whelming us deep into more techno-friendly terrains, true to his ever masterly touch for epic buildups and multi-level textural innovation, bringing up the acidic phlegm of Melja's original as he treats us to a carefully orchestrated ballet of synthetic whorls, contemplative chords and propulsive drum programming.

Searching for new ways to express himself, Maarten Smeets (one half of Detroit Swindle) has found a new perspective on music in his alter ego “Wanderist”. Here, he shares his unique view on contemporary electronic music with strong influences from dub, electro, techno and ambient in tempo’s that match the intensity, funk and drive of his sound. 

We feature Dauwd's remix of the title track 2r2t, which fizzes into action from the off. The bassline meanders around the mix in a ferocious yet controlled manner, driving the track forward throughout, whilst serving as the primary melodic device. Shades of Wanderist's original are brought through and warped by Dawud, showcasing once more his adept nous for reimagination. One for club IRL but it works just fine for transporting you there for now.

Founder of the Par Avion label (that he co-runs with Meta and Agrippa), Bristol-based Henry Greenleaf is one of the leading young voices in the UK electronic underground, guesting regularly on Noods Radio and Rinse France. 'Caught' is the title track from a forthcoming EP of his, with hollow, rattling percussion sitting below zig-zagging synths, with the mania cut through by an ambient breakdown, showcasing Greenleaf's knack at intricate sound design.
