Extremely limited, only 300 copies of this 12 minute dub wig-out have been pressed and they've promised no represses and certainly no digital. Cosmic with a heavy lolloping bass plod (think Norway's burgeoning sound in the mid noughties) expect to be completely washed out by shimmering oceanic guitar strums that sound like a really slo-mo, heavily processed sample of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" (but probably aren't). 
As the groove spirals into hypnotic bliss, the 12 minutes pass with a blink of the eye. 
Deliciously deep; Even a 30 minute edit of this wouldn't be long enough.

Just what you want to hear if you see HARVEY at 3am: a 12-minute long, deep, dubby, trippy, hypnotic disco workout that fuses guitar licks with chunky drums. 
It’s one of those tracks you’re already loving before the vocal drops in, meaning when it does a dancefloor orgasm isn’t out of the question.

The duo consisting of Fargo Devianti (@fargodevianti) & Vongold (@nvongold) from Guadalajara (Mexico) deliver their EP ‘Storm In A Tea Cup’, a tribute to acid humor & their fashion, cinema and rock idols/icons.

The release opens with ’Rebecca’, a track unsettling in all aspects, strings out of tune, naughty arpeggios delicately bouncing over psychedelic notes and the highlighted Koto dragging us to perceive the world music fibers. The hilarious and unveiling lyrics with monthly horoscope vibes is born from the main character on Fargo Devianti & Vongold's favorite film ‘Ghost World’.

‘Heather’ on the other hand, is an organic composition that drags us to feel under the influence of a Neopunk Pit on the club. Vongold on her behalf, delivers us some lyrics and vocals as an allegory to clubbing nights, to the banal trend of social media, pop icons viral news and peculiar quotes of 90's movies disguised with electrifying guitars, intriguing melodies and a catchy bass line rescued from the insides of Fargo Devianti elements that will definitely kick up dust on the dance floors.

To close up the EP, there are two remixes included: one of them by 'Trio
Misterio' (project by Azaria, Alvaro Cabana and Lebollet) in which they make a more hypnotic and trippy interpretation of Rebecca's own, while SCADTA's rework (Colombian artist Sergio Iglesias y German producer Tilman Benecke) offers a New Beat / EBM flavored version of the track “Heathers’

Well we are back from our summer holidays with a new PREMIERE FROM PARDON MOI!!!! Its part of an EP which is set to be released this weekend in preparation for the Andrew Weatherall Convenanza Festival!!! 

A little bit of text about it:

Berlin based Pardon Moi, consisting of James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal, makes music that would fit perfect as a soundtrack for a ride in a Ferrari GTO convertible, or on a transatlantic flight on a Concorde. Unfortunately, vintage Ferraris are ridiculously expensive and Concords are taken out of flight but still, the music creates an air of luxury and decadence for you to fill your lungs and air with.,,Swiftly bursting into the electronic scene in 2016, the duo managed to release a couple of EPs and singles on Nein Records and Emerald & Doreen Recordings and then drew the attention of one of the most interesting and diverse European labels - Gothenburg based Höga Nord Records.,,Pardon Moi’s sound is warm, creative, uplifting and retro thanks to the use of analogue synthesisers. The musical direction is toward the future. A utopia built in a world where the 90s never happened. This is retro futuristic dance music, but the music doesn't stop with being only nostalgic but holds qualities that would make any actor within any scene of modern electronic dance music envy.'

Fontän have had the honour to be remixed by some of the most interesting names in electronic music: Red Axes, Timothy J. Fairplay, Khidja, Mythologen and Pardon Moi give their take on tracks from the duo’s latest release Fontän (Höga Nord Rekords, 2017). The music moves in the landscapes of Leftfield, Techno, House and New Wave.
The evolution of Fontän continues from the cold and barren landscapes of the Swedish west coast, through some of the deepest cave like studios in Europe, out on to the continental club scene.

Blindetonation hits double figures with a suitably notable new EP from Aurum Miles. Pardon Moi, Il Est Vilaine and Thomass Jackson all serve up sizzling remixes to complete this interesting package. 

Miles hails from Lithuania and has grown up around shoegaze, rock and British indie, and was later touched by electronic sounds. A keys, drums and guitar player who mixes up all these influences with narcotic weirdness, he has released on this label before and always impresses. 

The excellently elastic ‘Few Feets’ is a sleazy, low slung machine made disco jam with skewed synths, punk hits and dirty bass. Exotic vocals and dark spoken words flesh out the wonky groove and the whole thing is hugely intoxicating. ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ is a menacing number with more filthy bass guitar riffs that snake along an urban sounding landscape. More dehumanised vocals bring an edgy feel and cosmic synths serve to trip you out. Last original ‘Mojo’ completes this brilliant disco freak show with off kilter synths and guttural guitar riffs that add up to dark cosmic excellence. 

First to remix is Berlin Based New Wave Duo Pardon Moi aka James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal. They flip ‘Few Feets’ into a surging track with shooting synths that reach to the skies. It’s a spine tingling cut with plenty of intergalactic energy.  Then come the duo of Il Est Vilaine, who make twisted electronic music and get their machines dancing on labels like Dialect. Their take on ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ is libidinous and dripping with a moody tension. Propped up by rugged bass and coloured with naughty chords, it’s a psyched-out and vital version.  Lastly, label regular and esteemed modern disco man Thomass Jackson works ‘Mojo’ in to a characterfully chugging, flipped out number with scale-riding melodies and percolating bass that takes you on a real trip. 

This is an inventive package of perfectly macho dark disco.

Roam Recordings maestro steps up to the plate for Wonder Stories with a two track EP of druggy, cosmic sounds. De La Mode is a Middle Eastern fantasy piece full of phrygian scales and eastern sounds which gets an excellent stripped down remix by Maya Danon. 

On the b-side, Sun Kissed is exactly what it sounds, a sunny cosmic journey that grows and and grows until it peaks euphorically. Remixer Pino slows things down and amps up the drugginess that manages to creep along just perfectly.

Here in Calypso we love Israeli cuisine, it is part of our every day meals, so we are happy to welcome to the family a good backer hailing from the lands of Haifa, "AckerMan". This time our good friend spices up with some hummus a well known classic dish from New York. It has been part of our sets for the last year like Iñigos presentations in Ant Bangos or Mayan Warrior Burning Man, so please enjoy the meal while dancing.
