I wrote this song when I was living in London in 2015. The second I played the chords on the piano I felt like I had to sing on it. It was the first track I tried to sing on so it has a lot of processing on the vocals; I had no idea what I was doing in those days. I basically forgot about the song for a year until I was working in a studio in a cabin in Yosemite forest where I heard it again and decided to finish it. That's where all the sampled birdsong comes from at the start. The song also has a load of world instrumentation, including my Kalimba a friend gave me from Zimbabwe and a dan moi. Out of all the songs I've ever released this one is probably the most personal. I've been playing it live for about a year and I'm so excited to finally share it with you. New ep coming feb 9 <3

Getting to work with Tweed and also do a remix of one of my favorite tracks has been nothing but amazing, it's honestly been a dream for years before I even started DJing my productions, and finally getting to hang with the boys on stage and work with them first hand is an honor. For this remix I wanted to keep a bit of the original style so it resonates with the jam band vibe, while simultaneously incorporating the modern sample based and Electro/Dubstep sound I go for that can translate to the big sound systems on the dance floor.

Mad Liberation is a collection of songs that I have been working on for the past year that ranged from mostly original compositions to varied sample work (retro vinyl recordings and new all original recordings); digital synthesis that took me weeks to master; to live instrumentation tediously and soulfully recorded by myself and some of my very good friends. 

This collection of noise - to me - became an album, a sound in a whole, an idea free from limits of thought and more an idea of the heart and soul. Mad Liberation is a piece of me that is representative of my past, breathes life into my present, and is a taste of the future. 

I don't have fancy recording equipment, amazing speakers, crazy keyboards, complicated sample packs, proper studio time, cutting edge midi controllers, or outboard mixing gear. 

What I do have is an endless imagination of the future/now, unrelenting will, constant fascination, and a heart that has no capacity to stop loving and trying. 

This business - when you boil it down - is not about the machine, but about the man. Even electronic music is humanistic. We breath life into these dead things to make them whisper and ROAR!! I am inspired by that fact, and this is what sets me free.
