Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Records we release a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

Dutch talent DOt. first came onto our radar last year, with his debut releases on Lifestyle, Lost and Subplate, which hinted at a dark, menacing sound design with a level of production rarely found in a producer's first year of releasing music.  We're very excited for his debut on Skankandbass Records with the excellent SNB048, as DOt. highlights his versatility on sublime liquid cut 'Messenger', and his trademark ominous sound on 'Misinterpeted'.

This is the first track AK and I created being in the same room together. All other collaborations before were made by sending ideas back and forth online.

We met up in my studio in Dresden and created the song idea in around three days. Later we finished it with our usual procedure.
