Give Me Freedom

This song came from a very raw a real place within me. When the wind is at your back and your eyes are focused on the light at the end of the tunnel, whatever gets you through let it carry you! Whether it be God, Inspiration, friends / family, take any motivation to keep walking toward your purpose!

Fumes

At times, our mind can be an evil, empty, crater of a dark space... pulling us down until we see and feel nothing but our deepest regrets, failures, disappointments, heartbreaks, shame and rejection. ( It takes serious spiritual warfare to know : LIES ! ) So, we self sabotage.. run to our silencing tools, work out extra hard, medicate, do our best to Just. Keep. Moving. till we’re so exhausted we can barely breathe. Emotionally, Physically, Mentally. .. In shallow waters, I’ve always received what I need.. I wrote “Sinner” when I thought this was a soulmate. A human. A man. However, my experiences at that time, in that department, proved I’d put my trust in all the wrong places. Writing this song ( with Elliot Jacobson and Simon Kafka ) taught me a lesson every time I listened back to it! The overwhelming love, support, knowing and understanding I received came from no one other than GOD. ❤️ I’m far from perfect. But I’m always redeemed. I don’t always make the best choices. But I’ve always got grace. 💯 I go through the most ridiculous experiences. But I live to tell the story. I lost my way and found myself. I went from a puddle to a statue and back again quite a few times... God loved me still. I questioned him and rejected him. God loved me still. I shut him out and acted all tough. God loved me still. I surrendered.  I continue to surrender daily. It’s a verb, forget the noun.  There is no destination, friends. Continuous efforts toward courageous goals = ❤️🎉 Finding solace in God has been my saving grace along this journey. I’m SO THANKFUL. Rock out in gratitude with me ?!

There are stories we never tell that the right song seems to emulate with ease. I'm finding it's time to share some of these demos instead of letting them sleep in silence. 
I hope this song breathes life into your past. May it fill your mistakes with gratitude, rather than regret. May it gift you a moment of acceptance, rather than denial. May you recognize the dead ends for their direction. For the best things that are present in your life TODAY would not be possible without the lessons you've collected along the way. I'm so very grateful for where I've come from, though I would not choose to go Back In Time... Would you?

Courtney Graf is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, marketing specialist, content creator and fitness model. She has been performing, writing and playing piano/guitar since she was 5. Courtney was signed to Roc Nation and Wilhelmina Models while in NYC. She currently resides in Salt Lake City, where she creates without limitation.

Courtney is passionate about writing songs that speak to empowering the self, owning your story and appreciating the push/pull on the heartstrings. Courtney aims to represent an image of strength in her music through her powerhouse vocals and vulnerable songwriting.
