This is the remaster I always wanted to do on this track. Hope you like it.
Cheerful little ditty, made to sound like just a few guys in a room, having fun on a sunny day.
Everything is 'fake', all samples, but no pre-made loops, it's all played 'live' from a keyboard.
The drum track is done in two takes - one pass for the 'hands' another for the 'feet'.
The bass went down in one take, but the bends took some extra work in post.
The flugel is two rehearsals then 'go for it'.

Does the world need another boy band?
This ia a *joke* track. Don't take it too seriously ;)
It's a look back at the boy bands of the 90's & early 2ks, including many of the common tricks those songs cliched - including no less than TWO 'truck-driver's gear changes' at the end.
The lyric starts as a denouncement of all the topics such songs would cover, but ends up by joining in with them & becoming a love song in itself.
I wrote & recorded this a long time ago, never intending for it to be a finished song, just a demo. The lead vocal was never finished properly, but I got caught up in doing the enormous backing vocal blocks, which I'm very happy with. The lead vox will just have to do as it is;)
All the instrumentation is real, except the drums which are samples [played, not loops].
No Autotune, Melodyne, VocAlign, ADT or other 'trickery' was used. It's all sung as you hear it - which, because of the three keys its in, meant a lot of time spent on the BVs.

This has a long, long history for me. I first covered it when I signed to Pete Waterman's Loose End label back in 81/82. We recorded it but it was never released.
I came back to visit it 20 years later… but again never finished it.
So this is the first time it's ever seen light of day.
It's still in that 80s mood.
Vocal is one single take, so it took some taming to cover the dynamic range. I decided not to auto-correct the life out of it but leave it warts & all.
I do have a mechanical/sync license from all that time ago - just don't ask me to find the paperwork.
