4 Star Commended Entry in the 2021 UK Songwriting Contest

I'd been reading Bob Dylan's 'Chronicles - Volume One' when I wrote this. I think Bob crept into the song - 'you go your way I'll go mine'. I had the microphone really close to the acoustic guitar when recording this, which produced the unintentional but interesting percussive sound of the plectrum on the strings.

Shattered Promises and broken dreams, they say that nothing's as bad as it seems,
I'd like to believe that the worst isn't true but looking in the mirror I'm not sure that I do,
Shattered promises and a broken heart, everything that's happened has upset the apple cart,
Every action has unforeseen consequences, the decisions that you've made have played havoc with my senses,

First of all thanks for dropping in on my page.
I sing, write songs and play rhythm guitar. I'm trying to learn a bit of bass. People tell me I've got a reasonable voice and I have a liking for melody. As I make my way with multi-track home recording, I'm hoping the the end result will be greater than the sum of the parts!
