Next up on the decks as part of Up Yer Ronson's 20th Anniversary party at The Faversham to commemorate it's residency at The Pleasure Rooms from 1994-1996 was one of the true pioneers of the Leeds House music scene and the original Up Yer Ronson resident DJ Marshall. He played from 12am-1am when the crowd were absolutely rocking….sit back and enjoy this superb mix of vocal house, dubs and deep house treats mixed together seamlessly by a true master….ladies & gentlemen, give it up for Marshall!! x

Seeing that I just completed the Slimkid3 & Nu-Mark collaboration, I thought it was appropriate to assemble a mix that highlights both Jurassic 5 and Pharcyde at their best. I dug deep in the vaults and uncovered some never before heard multi tracks, unreleased songs and acapellas from old tapes that needed to see the light of day. This is how I’d like to see all 8 MCs from both groups trade the mic. Enjoy!

Was diggin' through some of my favourite tracks I used to play at Up Yer Ronson the other day and hit record whilst having a lil jam at home...all off the cuff with no pre-planned set in mind or any rehearsed mixes...I wasn't going to release it as it's not a polished mix but I kinda like that as it adds to the authenticity of it...especially now we live in the days of sync buttons and beat / key perfect mixing thanks to the DJ software available...hope you dig....feel free to leave a comment and share amongst your friends! x

'The UpYerRonson Years - 1992-1997'

On 27th December 2015, Up Yer Ronson returned to their spiritual home at The Pleasure Rooms, Leeds for a one off 'Homecoming Party'...it was one of the best parties we have put on and SOLD OUT with weeks still to go. The venue is now called Bar Soba but as soon as you walked through those doors you knew you were back at the place we arguably had our best years from 1994-1996. We installed a Funktion One sound system, had a custom made DJ booth, raised high above the dance floor, just like the one we played in 21 years ago!! The atmosphere was next level and the added nostalgia of being back in our old stomping ground topped it off! This picture was taken at the end of the night when the lights had been switched back on. It sums up the night perfectly....everyone smiling, hugging each other and looking up to the DJ's in the box above chanting 'one more...one more' It was a moment we will cherish forever and one you can now relive as we release the live recordings from both the upstairs sets in the main room and sets downstairs on the ground floor...both rooms were packed and going off from the start. Following Neil Metzner's seamless vinyl set was the man who made this room his own back in the day...this was Marshall's floor and seeing him stood up in the DJ booth some 21 years after he last played there was a proper surreal moment. He rolled back the years with a sublime set of Ronson classics and more recent tracks that had the place rocking from start to finish....enjoy! x

Set 3 - Main Room 12am-1am / Marshall - Up Yer Ronson 'Homecoming Party' 27th Dec 2015

This is the final recording from upstairs...I had come just come off the decks after playing 1am-2am and the plan was for me and Andy Ward to play an hour set downstairs 'for old times sake', as it was the floor we both made our own back when we held our UYR parties there. We started playing back to back and enjoyed it so much we ended up staying on 'til 4am. Which meant upstairs was left in the capable hands of Marshall & Neil Metzner playing back to back for 2 hours from 2am-4am. Marsh said afterwards that it felt so surreal being back up in the DJ box that he played in every Friday night, warming up for some of the biggest DJ names in clubland. But this night was all about the residents and I'm sure you'll agree, they all played unbelievable sets that made it feel like you had gone back in time 21 years to one of the best nights and venues in the country...UpYerRonson every Friday at The Pleasure Rooms, Leeds!! So hit play and check this mix out by two of the finest resident DJs Leeds has ever produced...enjoy! x

With many years of DJing in Ibiza including 6 full summer seasons at Cafe Mambo, Danny O knows a tune when he hears one. 
Through his masterful musical programming of countless chilled out sunset sessions as well as setting the right vibe for our famous pre parties, Danny has firmly established himself as a one of Mambos finest resident DJs. 
Here he gives us a taster of his eclectic sets he regularly delivers to thousands of smiling faces each evening on the sunset strip.

Danny O Live at Cafe Mambo - 30th May 2016 - Part 2

This is how it went down when Up Yer Ronson took over the Mint Warehouse in Leeds and threw an 'Ibiza Reunion All Day & All Night Terrace Party'. To truly capture the Ibiza vibe, you need to have an outdoor terrace! So we set about recreating the most famous Ibiza terrace of them all...Space Terrace (pre-roof). Then we installed a Funktion One sound system and decked it out with camo netting. The music was supplied by some of Ibiza's original Space residents, Brandon Block, Alex p & Jason Bye with added percussive beats from Manumission legend Pav...all supported by the talented long standing resident DJs, Leeds legend Marshall, Paul Murray, Neil Metzner, Andy Ward & Lee James. 

Opening up the sun kissed outdoor terrace at 3.30pm playing back 2 back were Andy Ward & Neil Metzner who played wicked selection of forgotten gems which set up the vibe perfectly for the day/night ahead. Turn it up LOUD and relive this unbelievable party! Enjoy x

Graham Dixon since 1985 has been DJing at house parties and bars where he lived throughout the north of England then by 1988 he was a highly skilled & respected scratcher known for playing everything from hip hop, soul, breaks, early house and so on. Having already established a vinyl collection through his US, Europe & UK contacts, he became a most sought after DJ has his reputation grew which could've quite easily have taken the very reserved Graham to global status especially boasting a best vinyl, most advanced collection, which was by far way ahead of many at the time.

His regular London trips for packaged haul's of advance record orders, paid off, way before the stroke of 1990 had reached us, he was already playing regular club spots at The Leeds Warehouse, Tradeshall, Bradford's Bibbies aka The Capricorn Club & Leeds Twilight Zone a notorious converted Blues.

Then there was Blackburn's Monroes where low & behold all the illegal rave activity shaped itself in the north. Blackburn was an organised central focus to mediate northern areas catering to crews from Manchester, Blackburn & Leeds after club closing time, such as The Hacienda, Leeds Warehouse & Blackburn's Red Parrot plus other firms eventually joined the bond including Huddersfield, Liverpool, Blackpool & Bradford etc all via the renowned convoy system where 100's of cars skilfully avoided the police to prevent them breaking up the monstrous parties ahead.

Part of this organisation was assisted by pirate radio of which Graham was inundated with show's, keeping the organised party clock's ticking away for what storming 24/48 hour outdoor parties lay ahead. Basically cleverly moulding together, numbers in droves of 10 to 30 thousand happy smiles dancing their interactions away at the huge Summer Of Love parties such as Joy, Live The Dream, Sundance, Blast Off, Sunrise, Karma Sutre etc, all once it became UK widespread. 

After all this the house parties/raves were now regulated & no longer illegal, he was offered his own night at Ricky's in Leeds taking over from Sasha every Wednesday leading to more work at another red hot fixture back then, The Gallery with more work in & around Europe.  

Recent years in Leeds have seen him play to constantly sold out shows which he organised, UBER being one while Graham also set his sights on spinning at events pulling the success he always achieved, it actually seemed whatever Graham turned his hand to turned to gold, playing for brands like Kissdafunk, Plastic, The Zoo, Canya and Coastline without forgetting the legendary boat party. Plus for a solid 8 years week in week at Stinky's in Leeds he ran the Back2Mine Sunday daytime terrace shows, consistently playing to sold out audiences.

DJ influences who've guided his diversity flow throughout the years stretch from Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff, Grandmaster Flash, Nightmares On Wax from Leeds, the outstanding UK talents of Sasha & Mike Pickering plus Derrick Carter and Carl Cox have all driven the Graham Dixon talent wagon.

Now he's fully re acquainted his passion for a solid underground classic acid house sound again, Shine offered him The Loft host slots at Leeds Warehouse for the FAC51 Hacienda shows which were taking off in the main room. Since then he's now been asked to fully join the residency outfit with his debut show set to commence 11pm, The Loft at The Warehouse, 13th June 2015 when Shine host the Made In Leeds Festival Afterparty, with Steve Lawler headlining the main room.
