Here's my bio:

Rob Lloyd was a member of London punk trio Betamax for a few years.
During his time in Betamax they had many highs, being signed to HTT Records, releasing 5 singles & an E.P and playing some great gigs including supporting Graham Coxon on his UK A+E tour.
After coming to a creative block in Betamax, he decided to take some time out and concentrate on solo work. 
It was slow moving at first trying to find creative energies on his own, but after experimenting with different sounds in his home studio, he would find his creative flow and new songs started to emerge.
Soon after, the first solo release was ready and in 2013 he would release "She's in Love".
After a few reviews, some local airplay and "She's in Love" reaching number 4 in the MRU Music Charts, things started to progress.
Not long after this U.S label Oreya Records approached with the offer of a handshake publishing deal. In September 11th 2013 they released "My Friend & Me" as a general single release.
In July 22nd 2014, Oreya Records released "Two Axons" which would be the first official album under the name BetaRob.
The album was well received making it in to the ITunes official album chart peaking at number 24. As well as getting extensive airplay in Europe & America, a few of the tracks also received some good reviews (which can be found below).
Since then to keep the momentum going, in 2015 Rob Lloyd has gone on to release "Like a Machine" & "Too Late, Too Soon" (reviewed by BBC Introducing's Sam Bonham below) as free downloads which can be found on his SoundCloud page.

Geek. Miserable so-and-so. Square peg in a round hole with daydreams of living happily ever after by the sea.

After almost a decade as songwriter, bassplayer and singer with the band Betamax, with all it's highs and lows, I found myself suffering a severe case of writers block. All Things Bob is my attempt to find a cure with an ongoing and growing collection of musical experiments. All music, instrumentation, lyrics, recording and production is done by me. My techniques, both from a song-writing and production point of view, are constantly evolving and improving. I started with a four-track iPhone app and an acoustic guitar in March 2012. 

Hopefully, you'll like like what you hear on my page, and enjoy listening to my journey from just a year ago when I was genuinely unsure if I would ever be able to write another song....

"(All Things Bob) is now trying his hand at a solo career and with his new single ‘Home‘, he proves he’s on to a winner.

Having already reached the summit of the MRU charts, this infectiously catchy, up tempo electronically-generated tune has all the makings of a great pop song that could very well take the charts by storm, particularly with summer approaching. With an interesting fusion of musical styles based around a standard guitar/drum/keyboard backing section it is brilliantly enhanced with a deliciously bubblegum pop electronic melody. ‘Home‘ has echoes of recently successful indie-pop acts such as Yeasayer, Cut Copy or Miike Snow, and will no doubt generate similar levels of appeal.

The song’s technological age-inspired lyrics are ironically geeky, adding a bit of tongue-in-cheek charm to proceedings, while the memorable chorus hook together with Bob's David Byrne-esque vocal delivery both add to the like-ability factor. Perfectly timed, perfectly weighted and without an irritating over-reliance on electronic after effects, it is very difficult not to like a song like ‘Home.

This single will almost certainly be a massive hit and a great springboard for his All Things Bob solo-project."

"There's no sign of a struggle for material; these tracks sound fully-formed and well though out. Most recent track 'Drone (Happiness Awaits You)' could have graced a Graham Coxon album, in fact many songs here have a touch of Blur about them. The sound is still punky (see 'Turn The Tide' or 'Another Life') but includes a few sonic experiments in the background. As far as highlights go then 'Unselected' stands out, sounding at points like it could be the work of Bob Mould; when he does slow things down for 'Seasons' the standard is the same, proving this is no one-trick pony. With the writers block banished (are we reassured of this on the excellent 'I'm Fine Now'?) we can surely now look forward to more things Bob."

O.W.L.S is an unashamedly “grunge” band based in England’s answer to 1990’s Seattle, Brighton. Well, it rains a lot. And there’s a lot of flannel around.
Taking their influence from TAD, Melvins, Alice In Chains and yes, we’re going to say the N word… Nirvana, the tunes are drenched in howling feedback, heartfelt pop sensibilities and an unwillingness to play traditional guitar solos.
It’s all about wanting to remember that these bands, far from being all about depression and drug related deaths, were actually about a fun little punk rock scene where everyone got together and threw themselves around to some great music. That’s what O.W.L.S would like to recreate.

Their critically acclaimed The Rite Of Spring Ep was digitally released in April 2012 and for an hour or two was Number 1 in the Amazon Movers & Shakers chart. It was recorded by Bullet For My Valentine’s Michael “Padge” Paget in exchange for three American Hamburger Restaurant Breakfasts and a case of beer.
On Dec 9th a limited edition double A side of Hurt Janine and Vitamins is released on vinyl through In At The Eye Records.

Dig out your old Mudhoney tshirt, throw on a flannel shirt, go to a sweaty little venue and dance around like an idiot for a while.
