Hello, I’m launching a new site dedicated to provide you with new music that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. There will be 6 parts, and every one of them will be free for members of the site.

This first track, called Arc, was one of my first experiments with some new analogue synths recently - the Moog Minituar, and the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 08. I wanted to make something smooth and melodic which would work for my club sets, and would be mixable, but nothing too peak time intense, something a little softer. I think the heart of the track really all came down to squeesing the main riff with those lovely analogue filters!

It's been already about two years that with their last album “The Inner Peace Of Cat And Bird” (SK245CD / LP) the duo Neve Naive could not only delight an audience but also the critics. Since then, Stefan “Merse” Ulrich and Neve aka Alexa Voss spent quite some time again in their studio and recorded a good deal of new material, so we get the 4-track EP at hand, “Thin Air”.
The opener “Thin Air” is a breezy ballad suddenly picking up pace in the second part unexpectedly. Accompanied by a piano, guitars and unobtrusive but all the more ingenious beats Neve is saying good bye to a bygone love. Equally mature the EP proceeds with “Through The Glass”. An instruction for more courage and adventure. And Neve Naive seem to have followed this directive as well.

“The Sleeper” suprises with twisted guitar sounds and a rather compelling arrangement over which Neve's vocals hover sinuously.

Till we hear from her and Ulrich again, which will be, as promised, very soon. “Thin Air” whets the appetite for more properly.

Steyoyoke Recordings are well known for their constant innovation and this new project arrives with much excitement. ‘Steyoyoke Black Reconstructed’ is designed to enable artists to delve into past Steyoyoke Black releases and rework them with their own personal touch. First up are Animal Picnic, who revisit two memorable tracks, Dahu’s ‘Ruin’ and Nick Devon’s ‘Don’t Be Afraid’.

Animal Picnic’s rendition of ‘Ruin’ maintains a perpetual vibe, which is derived directly from the original. Right from the get go, the bass line settles into an unyielding rhythm, bountiful of techno grooves and tough percussion. The breakdown then allows for the underlying melody to briefly shine through, before succumbing to its previous momentum.

Splicing the old with the new, this version of ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ establishes a more subtle build of intensity. The mood is set with an eerie presence and heightened with severe yet passionate chord changes that embellish the entire track. The echoing vocals from Benji also empower this remix, ascertaining an audio delight of malicious beauty.

We are happy to welcome on board fresh talent from Valencia in our next release. Daniel Kyo has previously released in labels such us Poker Flat, Drumpoet Community and recently in Days Of Being Wild or My Favorite Robot. His debut Ep on Factor City is called “No Answers” and includes two original tracks followed by remixes from Nhar, Switchst(d)ance and label honcho Undo.

The title song “No Answers” opens the Ep with techno energy and a pop flavor. Daniel’s vocals and an analog bass-line drive the song while layers of synths, fx and acid-lines take it to the next level. Nhar’s remix is an absolute winner as proved in many dance floors. The French producer has built a complete and irresistible new track using a vocal chop from the original.

After A Weird Night comes a weird track. In the second original cut from the Ep acid drones play with robot guitars and rough beats to create a track full of tension. For the remix duties we thought in the rising Portuguese producer Switchst(d)ance after his hot releases for Beachcoma and Areal. He’s converted the original jam into a 4 to the floor psychedelic burner where an arpeggiated and mutant bass-line is the main character. On his side and to complete the Ep Undo reworks the original playing with the stems and adding broken electro beats and a 303 line.
