Personal dark ambient approach to "Wonderful World", original L. Armstrong 1967 (remixed and extended version of an older VSS track). Electric guitar, percussion, effect pedals, voice, unsynchronized loops, two tube amps and a lot of time manipulation. Field recording: electromagnetic waves made audible with Soma Ether. Why is there no light? is one of the darker pieces from my upcoming EP, Observation Rituals. It builds slowly, layer by layer, focusing more on atmosphere and emotion than rhythm. I tried to capture the feeling of drifting through space with only faint traces of light left to follow.
