Shelter presents “Aveen” — the third installation in our genre-agnostic compilation series.

To follow up 2023’s “Feyrûse” and 2024’s “Mizgîn”, we have curated an emotionally charged collection of 17 tracks that press against the debilitating realities of life in the mid-2020s. The title stems from a Persian word meaning “pure” or “transparent” — signaling a search for unfiltered and sincere artistic expression in the midst of a social climate filled with smoke and mirrors.

“Aveen” features Shelter’s most international line-up to date, with music from 18 artists spread across 13 countries and 5 continents displaying their signature sounds shaped by their local scenes and cultures. 

Flowing through mutated shades of ambient, hypnagogic pop, trance, leftfield techno, neo-perreo, and GQOM — the compilation connects the myriad influences and mind-states of electronic musicians from nearly every corner of the world and tethers them together into a cathartic 17-track excursion.

➽ 24 years old, the self-proclaimed "clothed and courageous" kodiki definitely is one of the most promising artists to emerge from (not only) the Slovakian electronic scene in recent years. First and foremost, the jovial and ever-kinetic enigma is a producer, model, and performer known for his engaging stage presence that feels more like a performative adrenaline rush than a standard guy+laptop situation. After self-releasing a couple of singles, including '300dB' and the 'Muliebre' EP, he later doubled up with a well-received '600dB' EP, all while being busy playing prominent triple-A festivals as well as off-the-grid ratholes.

➽ While live, kodiki’s signature animated self-puppetry embodies the sound itself to the extent that it becomes an inseparable part of his real-time sonic narration. Highly recommended to catch him live with his highly anticipated debut album, which Gin&Platonic is now honored to present.

➽ Precise sound design and high-octane rhythms, every beat dares to be both pristine and primal. Each one fabricates a pulse-pounding joyride through sun-faded ambience, perpetually veering from trancey euphoria into glitchy chaos and all the way back.

Hiding in relative obscurity, Music For Your Plants – the sonic environment tended by Tallinn's Norman Orro – originated in late 2000s as a library-music-obsessed prog-rock collective in the dusty attics of the Estonian Academy of Arts. The project has since shed its initial kraut-informed sprawl, evolving through junglist, breakbeat hyperstitions toward a sort of post-anthropocene chamber music: densely layered, rhythmically unstable, and emotionally euphoric.

MFYP maintains a fascination with nonhuman perspectives and systems,
expressing this through forgotten esoteric plugins or operating 90’s hardware with the casual precision of someone peeling particularly stubborn fruit. Despite surface affinities with ambient or post-club sonics, Orro’s output eschews the genre’s more pristine tendencies. MFYP’s productions are texturally grainy, often abrasive in detail – the residue, perhaps, of early-digital workflows and a background in tape-saturated, longform rock improvisation.

Where Hassell sought hybrid utopias, MFYP’s trajectory leads deeper into what Orro has referred to as “Fifth World sonics,” creating a deliberate babel of "world musics" – sometimes deploying reflective detachment, elsewhere earnestly attempting to reconfigure music for an age where the concept of "world" is in crisis. This approach, crystallised on the 2013 Humanity EP, helped cohere the “eco grime” microgenre through holographic, deconstructed folktronics and mutations of UK bass DNA.

On Aeolian Software, we find bit-crushed fretwork and pop-leaning structures, if only briefly gasping for air. MFYP’s current phase appears concerned with breath and density, melodic cells surfacing through mist before dissolving again – as if uncertain whether to take root or vanish.
New Age textures creep in sideways, only to be clipped by loose 2-step scaffolding, while vocal trance fragments pockmark the air like overheard dreams. Somewhere between the PS2 boot sequence and a pan-global spiritual, it's panglossia for the post-everything listener.

Hyperlink surfaces again with Global Tides, a compilation born from trust, instinct, and the sheer joy of making something together.

…What happens if we stop trying to make sense, and start trying to make contact? …What if a compilation was a séance? What if we told you Global Tides started as a ripple in the fabric? A strange invitation passed between frequencies, across borders, through the fog of daily mess? 
Built on friendship, instincts, laptops, and late nights, this one’s about opening doors and seeing what rushes in. Global Tides is a love letter to collaboration. To letting go of the map and building something you couldn’t draw in advance (even if your collaborator’s on the other side of the world). A shaky bridge built between cities, timezones, feelings. Each track is a little rift, a meeting point where two (or more) worlds rub against each other until something spills out. Sometimes it’s raw, sometimes it’s cinematic, sometimes it’s a noise that wasn’t supposed to be there, but we kept it anyway, because it felt like a truth. At the end, all of it feels real. 

This is a drift. A gathering of scattered thoughts and tangled dreams, shaped into music by people who trusted the process. There were no rules. Just collisions and alignments. No plan. Just a low, shared hum: let’s try. Some tracks dissolve, others erupt. One of them might haunt you.

The proceeds on Bandcamp go back into this machine made of glue and guts : mastering, artwork, promo... Hyperlink’s still powered more by feelings than funding :’)
