Quick question, my friend: it sounds like you play the brief scale runs individually rather than hammering on and pulling off. Is this accurate? Do you use your fingers or thumb for those passages? I'm currently trying to learn this piece. Many thanks.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, tenor saxophone player and bandleader Charles ‘Packy’ Axton is yet another of the uncelebrated, despite a deep pedigree and funky catalogue of notable grooves. Part of the mighty Stax family through birth—Packy’s mother Estelle Axton and uncle Jim Stewart founded the southern R&B dynasty in the early 1960’s—Packy picked up the sax at a young age, and after linking with future Booker T. & the M.G.’s Steve Cropper and Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn, formed the The Mar-Keys. Almost reaching the top of the R&B and pop charts in 1961 with the classic “Last Night,” friction caused by Packy’s party going ways caused a split. It wasn’t until 1965 that the wild child had another national instrumental hit on his hands, “Hole In The Wall” by the Packers.

There's a Blues, A Holy Blues, Black Blues and White Blues

- Blues is when you express your melancholy in music and words and it's perfect in every way if it's done right!

- The Holy Blues is when you reach some kind of Nirvana when you listen to it, mostly (if it's not always) comes from black people.

- Black Blues it's all what I said up there, in two words it's the Original thing.

- White Blues let's agree it's a fucking bullshit but sometimes it's okay and rarely perfect.

What we have here is so much different, it's A holy Blues coming from white  people and I don't even know what to call it. 
it's the rarely perfect that gives your goosebumps a goosebumps!
